First Handgun Question

I'll go against the grain here a little bit.

My first gun was a MkIII 22/45. It was alright, and I learned the basics with it. But I quickly grew bored with it and wanted a 9mm in about a month.

However you don't have much to spend right now, factoring in the gun plus a SAFETY COURSE and various shooting equipment.

So I recommend...a Walther P22. Why? I find they're a lot more fun than the Rugers (and I had two). It's still a 22 but something about the little thing keeps your interest longer. The new versions seem to have the bugs worked out.

the walther is ehh
just dont let hopps #9 sit on the slide to long it will eat the finish off it (according to someone in another thread)

now heres what you do
go to a range and spend the money to rent a few different guns.
then after you find one that fits your hand and that you can control go buy that one
what works for me will not work for you
i tend to like the ruger p series they fit my hand
they may not fit yours

I am in agreement with the 22 shooters. The Ruger single six conversion adds the option of 22 mag. A little more hit and noise and fun. The Mark II / III are great if semi auto is your preference. Great starter pistols that are accurate and you will enjoy the rest of your life.

Well it seems that most here agree on the Ruger auto loader. I'm with them. I have a collection of handguns I shoot and the screeming eagle is very good quality for the money. Also if you want to take a good shooter and turn it into a tack-driver just upgrade with a costome trigger kit.
