This teacher can tell you about the National Firearms Act of 1934, why it was enacted, and discuss the racist overtones of it as the violent acts in the newspapers were being committed by the Dirty Italians and Dirty Irish, the “illegals” of yesteryear. We can also discuss the Gun Control Act of 1968 and the social abuses that led to that legislation, the complete fallacy of the mythical “American Gunslinging Cowboy”, how in fact the civil was WAS about slavery and capitalism... if you want to educate, start with original source materials.
Any and all laws formed since 1789 that infringe on our second amendment rights are illegal and unconstitutional, in my opinion (For the record). We hold certain people in exalted positions based on their understanding of the law, yet no one is perfect, no one is exempt from weakness. As a simple high school graduate I think I can read and understand the Constitution. So why we need certain people to "Interpret" it is beyond my understanding.
How's this for the law and dirty this or that people, punish the people who commit the bad behavior, and never those who don't? As for slavery and capitalism, it is likewise unfair to condemn capitalists like myself who don't use it to extract wealth at the expense of others without power, the Golden rule works for all people, rich or poor, wise or foolish, kind or harsh. But if you want to condemn socialism I'll hop right on board Sir.

Finally, I protest being drawn into a fight over this because I've been warned to stay away from politics, are you trying to get me kicked off the board? My comments about what schools teach are sincere and were not intended to anger anyone at all. I apologize if you took me wrong as I certainly don't know what you or any individual instructors teach, I only read about tiny kids being kicked out of school for drawing a stick figure of an airsoft pistol, maybe that was in Yugoslavia, I don't know.

We're all friends here, my apologies for getting a little hot under the collar there myself. Sorry.

I agree that "Any and all laws formed since 1789 that infringe on our second amendment rights are illegal and unconstitutional" because what you are saying is a tautology... if it indeed infringes than indeed it infringes. The difficulty is in what exactly infringes.

While you may have your own opinion, if you are caught with a firearm that is in violation of the National Firearms Act of 1934 without the proper paperwork, the fact is you will be spending a LOT of money to defend yourself from felony criminal charges and conviction. My money is on the feds here.

As for other politics, let's talk guns.
