first casting, a masterpiece? or tragic art?

That's a good lookin' batch of bullets!

Absolutely !! Good Job...

its amazing how far a ten pound pot of lead goes, seems like youll never see the bottom of the pot,

Yep you can go a long ways with those 150'ish grain molds, but bump it up to a 250(+) grain bullet, and throw in a 4 - 6 cavity mold, and your done with it pretty quick. ;)

Yep.
I can cast my .32 caliber 115/122 gr bullets and be tired and/or bored before I empty the pot. - 60 bullets per pound.

But, step up to the single-cavity 437 gr bullet molds... and you're adding ingots before you even have a pile of bullets to show for it. - At one ounce apiece, there's an obvious 16 bullets to the pound (plus the loss of alloy to sprues).

alright mike/tx, i will hopefully be holding up my end and getting these on some paper tomorrow(in the sub-freezing temps of GA in spring)

hopefully i will be getting some on cans, pots, water jugs and phone books as well

thanks again for the mold, i really like it and it will see lots of use, i know they will feed well in the levergun, so it shall now be my full-time range round

im an idiot!!!!!

so i sat down, weighed out my powder, primed mand filled the cases, about to seat the bullet:D:D:D somethings missing here:eek:

BULLET LUBE!!!!

BULLET LUBE!!!!

That is a bummer. One thing I'd recommend before loading them all... If you haven't slugged your barrel yet I would do so. Make sure the bullet is .001-.002 above the groove diameter, and only load about 10-20 bullets. I've thought I had something right several times only to find out it leaded the snot out of my barrel then had to pull everything and start over.

By the way. Those are some awesome looking slugs. With the tin that you added bullet making is much more forgiving with fill out and helps gives that pretty shine.

couldnt keep the target still enough for a good group today, the wind was crazy and it was freezing, i was happy to get this at 50ish yards, but they shoot nicely, no lead in the barrel with alox, dropped right at 358 which is nice, also they weigh 163

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT...Way to go bud, that right there makes it all worth it.

WELL worth what you paid for that mold huh...;)

See there, they are for shooting holes in paper and critters, not sittin around lookin pretty on some table top.... HaHaHa

Man I got to get busy here, you guys are gaining on me fast....:D

thankks everyone, it was def alot of fun, just got the 356-120-tc mold today, so ill prob get to casting again on saturday

spring is finally showing up here, again, i hope to get out tuesdat to shoot those 357s again and work on getting some real groups, also wanna push them a little faster

next step for me is going to be powder coating, that really peaks my interest, especially in rifle calibers

looking at a promotion this coming month which will increase my play $$:D:D
but will also decrease my playtime:(:( but i cant see a good job geting in the way of great bullets, we shall see

thank mike/beag/everyone
