First amendment suspended on TFL

Conventional wisdom says that you should never put anything in e-mail you wouldn't want to see posted on your office door. If you're using e-mail at work, it is the company's system, and the courts have held as teh owner, they can monitor it at will and the you have no reasonable expectation of privacy.

You are posting to a public BBS here, similarly, you have no expectation of privacy and you can assume that if you say something really stupid/inflamatory/slandrous/etc., it can come back to bite you and you have no particular recourse.

As far as private e-mail, read your ISP's privacy statement, but one would be foolisth to think that there's any real privacy there either. I have friends and acquaitances who work for various 3 letter gov't agencies, and they are very happy that certain hate groups and other 'subversives' use teh net, it make their jobs easier. Although the volume makes it daunting, there's tons of actionable intelligence to be had here if you know how to look and are willing to put in the effort.
