First accuracy test, CZ Carbine

My first feeble attempt at checking the accuracy of my 1-9" 527. Inexpensive 4x scope, rather large crosshairs so it totally covered the red dot at 100 yards.

50 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, 4895 powder, 4 shots each.

why 4 and not the more common 5?

I tend to get some great 4 shot groups and then the 5th opens up.

I think you answered your own question.
Personally, I like the one shot one hole groups when showing off to my friends and it doesn matter how many targets I need to get a good one!
 
As I understand it that rifle (I think like most CZ rifles) has a 'set' trigger. That is, push the trigger forward till it clicks and then a VERY light pull back will fire the rifle.

Does your rifle have this and if so were you using it? Also how do you like it and how is the trigger if you don't use the set feature and just do a regular pull?
 
I have a CZ 527 in 223 with a nice Docter 3x9 on it. It's a shooter. I adjusted the overall trigger weight down to 2.5lbs and the set trigger is under 1lbs. I honestly don't use the set trigger anymore. The regular trigger is that good. I also took the front and rear sight off. What a great all purpose rifle. Build quality is excellent. Probably one of the best bargain quality rifles going. No plastic on this rifle. Feels like a older Sako.

The set trigger rarely gets used. I've adjusted the regular pull to the point there is no takeup or overtravel and has that 'glass rod' break.

I'll be honest, it really doesn't make sense to put a set trigger on a compact carbine such as this. They aren't really 'target' rifles like a Varmint, etc. I am thrilled it has all the other adjustments and am perfectly happy without that added feature.
 
I didn't even know about that feature. You guys just blew my mind. Is it on all the rifles? Even the rimfires?
I've really got to get one now. To take a good look at the mechanism if nothing else.
 
If you have the means, I suggest you at least handle one. They are fully adjustable for weight and overtravel and are the best stock triggers on the market. Just when you think they can't get any better, then you find out they have a set function.
 
Picture isn't working. What are the results?

Also, there isn't a 6.5 Creedmoor from CZ. I have talked to them personally at the NRA convention and emailed them a few times saying I am interesting in the Creedmoor in a CZ 550 with a detachable mag. But word on the internet is the CZ 550 line is discontinued. The new line isn't a Mauser style action, but more like a Saiko action with push feed. :(
