Tell her to tell the jerk, "Those aren't freckles, they are blood spatter from the last guy that wouldn't leave me alone"

That should get him to back off!
 
Make sure you spend time with her on the range - she needs to develop muscle memories and situational awareness needed to maximize the value of a CCW permit:cool:
 
Did anyone suggest a good course - one that is knowledgeable about women's issues as to technique and equipment.

Macho self-proclaimed expert husbands or boy friends may not be the best instructors.
