Finally - A Kel-Tec P-32

Thanks to Oleg, I am about a week away from getting a chromed P-32. To beat it all, I'm paying less to get a chrome version out of state and transferred, that I would if I had bought a blued model in-state (if I would have ever found one before the second coming of Christ). Woo-Hoo!

Now I need advice from all you P-32 owners.

(1) Does it make a big difference to "fluff and buff" the action?

(2) I'm planning on loading it with Fiocchi 73gr. FMJ for defense. Would a hollow point be better for summer carry?

thanks!

I'm a new P-32 owner too. I just did the F & B two nights ago. It appears that Ket-Tec has addressed some issues that earlier F&B's took care of. In other words, I didn't have to do a few steps. I did do the important ones, though, and I did notice a smoother action afterwards.

Oleg turned me on to a place in MN. They should still had a blued version for 229$.
Ask Oleg for the details, I'm at work and don't have the address.

Al,
Congratulations on your find! I'm sure you'll be happy to have such a nice, light .32 in your pocket. I know I am. I have the hard chrome version also. It has never had a malfunction. I've shot a lot of the Fiocchi FMJ as well as a variety of hollow points. The Fiocchi FMJ always went BANG, but I'm not going to use it anymore. My gun shop owner said that he isn't going to stock it any longer because he got so many complaints. I'll stick with Silvertips or my favorite round, the Federal Hydra-Shok. Hydra-Shok's feel a little "stronger" in the little Kel-Tec.
Again, congratulations. It seems a growing number of people have decided that having a .32 in your pocket that is so light you don't notice it is a good idea. I carry mine even if I have a Larger caliber pistol on my belt. (Can't be too careful, you know!) I removed the pocket clip and carry mine in a pocket holster from M/D Enterprises. I also have an Uncle Mike's nylon pocket holster. Both are great, but the Uncle Mikes is really light and has a moisture barrier to boot, and was really inexpensive.

You can get a good price for Fiocchi at http://www.double-action.com/ where I get mine.

For the P-32 73 gr, FMJ is my carry ammo. I also use S & B as well as Fiocchi for practice.

Do the F & B throughout, it makes a good gun great. I appreciate the simplicity of the P-32 and the fact I can take it completely down and get it back together without being a gunsmith. Knowing the inner workings of a gun makes me more fomfortable in using it.

You will love this gun!

Ragin Cajun,
Which seems hotter, the Fiocchi or the S&B?
I bought two boxes of Fiocchi two months ago at a gunshow for $6.00 a box. No gun at the time, but I knew I was going to get one eventually. I've shot 1000 rnds of 9mm S&B before, it seemed really hot and really dirty. Is the 32 the same way?

WLM,
Did you like the pocket clip? I carry a knife daily wit a pocket clip. The P32 clip seems to be a good idea.

Frontsight,
How hard is it to take the little booger apart?

thanks!

Big Al,
Yes, the pocket clip is a good idea.
The reason that I removed mine was that I intended to carry the little pistol in a pocket holster exclusively.
I also carry a Spyderco knife every day with a pocket clip. The removal of the Kel-Tec pocket clip made an already thin pistol seem REALLY thin.
By the way, the P-32 is VERY easy to take down and clean after a range trip. You'll be pleased with that, too. :)

I can't tell the "dirt" factor as when I shoot it's with various manuf's of ammo so I know the little "spit wad" eats them all. They are about the same heat, though. $6 a box is a real good price for Fiocchi. :-) The best price on brass 9mm I have seen is PMP (So African) for ~$5.50. Have shot a lot of it and had no problems. Don't know the heat for PMP either.

The ones I don't shoot in 32 are CCI - hard primers, and UMC - under sized brass, they bulge and can be difficult to eject, but I have the P-32 tuned to even eject these.

The belt clip is how I carry now. Clip it to your pants - not the belt - either in the appendix position or behind the belt buckel, mine hides the clip. You can then "drape" you shirt a bit to cover whatever may possibly show. Even my wife has a hard time knowing "where" I'm carrying. The belt clip beats the ankle carry and is easier to fetch.
Remember, at about 9 oz this thing is light!

Have a ball, shooting hard ball! ;-)

Yep, do the fluff & buff. It's not hard and you'll learn the ins and outs of your P-32.

Just in case you have not run across the directions, check out:
http://www.geocities.com/Goldenloki/ktfluff.html

'Goldenloki' has done a great job with illustrated directions on "How to".

Also, I practice with the FN surplus ammo but I like the Sellier and Bellot for carry. I've heard that the S&B is 'hotter' and, when I fire both it seems to be so. I may be wrong on this though....

regards,

Owen

I don't tend to really like the clips, as in my experience, they are uncomfortable to use when actually firing the piece, and are slower to use than a holster.

I stoke my P-32 with FN hardball. I have a very early SN, so I've had a few malfunctions, but they are almost totally ironed out, just by breaking-in.

I've heard a lot of you talk about FN surplus hardball. It's supposedly really cheap, but sounds good to practice with. Where do you guys get the cheapest deals on FN hardball?

thanks!

I really like my P-32, but need to practice more with it. That ammo sounds like a good deal.

Big Al and others...I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but I jus took my brand new P-32 out and the extractor broke! I hope I can get this fixed quickly by Kel-Tec. By the way, I was letting the slide strip the top round off, just like I'm supposed to.

Frontsight...... I've heard that Kel-Tec had a bunch of improperly hardened extractors installed in some of their P32's and P11's. Call Kel-Tec and ask to speak to Marty. Nice guy, and he'll do you right. He'll send you a new extractor, or you can return the slide and kel-Tec will install it for you.

DAH BIG DAWG'S ON DUTY

Hey Guy's,

I just happened to get my hard Chrome P32 recently also. The shop I checked had several to my surprise. The FFL dealer were I shoot said he couldn't get any. So I went elsewhere. ($259).

My question is were is your P32 printing on paper. I put a box of 50 American Eagle through mine, to get a feel for it.
It's grouping OK but about 5 inches to the left of point of aim.
Will this improve as I learn the trigger on this little mousy!
Or are they famous for not shooting to point of aim?

Where does yours print?
Can anything be done to adjust it.

I can't find a p-32 anywhere. I saw one at the Tulsa Gun Show for $ 335! Who did Oleg send you to? (I can find a local dealer for shipping.)
