Filling a new sandbag

Sorry folks but the only sand that will work is the fine windblown sand from a sandbar on the lower Mississippi River. The particles are almost molecular in size and when you firm your bag up it is solid! Personally, I would love to have some of Hot Core's sand :D

I have two pretty much identical bags (long x-wing type). one is camo and filled with walnut tumble media and has a carry strap. it is used on the rail of my tower stands and is a joy to carry and if you beat it down to conform to the rail, very stable.
the other is suede leather filled with granite dust from the local quarry. it is soft enough to form to the rifle but packs HARD and is VERY heavy.

Hey Ripper Man, I'll sell you some great tactical sand for your leather bags. But if you _really_ want to go sub-MOA, you should try some of my National Match sand. It's 3 times the tactical sand's price, but it will shrink your groups by at least 0.00323 MOA. :)

Don't laugh guys but I use rice. It is heavy enough to stablize yet light enough to carry around without problem and cheap enough to replace it as needed. I usually change the rice once a year as rice will absorbe moisture over time (for this reason I put rice inside ammo cans too).

I finally got them filled. Ended up using a blend of parakeet gravel and sand. They feel pretty good but I guess I'll just have to try them out to be sure. Thanks for all the advice.
