Feels like Shooting season is extended

If it's too cold to enjoy shooting, how about parking on the range, rolling down the windows in the car, heater on full blast and shooting from there?
No kidding, we've done that, especially on days when we had the range to ourselves.
You know, those days when it's so cold and snowy that even the rabbits are hiding in their holes.
And if others show up, they usually take one look at us, and do the same thing.
But that was before discovering the attraction of airguns in the basement or garage.

g. Willikers, that could never happen at the range I use, all fenced in, very strict. Better have good ear protection. A crazy friend of mine fired a 45auto inside a car without any ear protection, his ears didn't stop ringing for a week. At the time I thought it was the funniest thing.I'd chalk it up as young & stupid. Have to say though, it still makes me smile.

Tell him the end of the barrel goes out of the window next time.
So, how come the actors on tv and in movies can still carry on normal conversations after shooting a bunch of rounds? :)

The weather is fine here in S E Michigan 25f and a light dusting. Could of went shooting bunny's but went and made firewood instead. Then went for a long ride to buy a new Glock. It's a fine day. As long as I don't have to shovel snow.

I live in northern North Carolina and it's been cold lately. It did warm up a little and now we are getting 18-24" of snow tomorrow.

Your not alone. I will be at home and my internet had better not go out.

LE-28, the Carolina's are getting like NY we're going to get it Saturday. Good Luck. Till the next time, Be Safe out there.

Spring and fall in central Texas are the best time to go shooting. But then again, that's probably true in most parts of the country. I can't wait for the new indoor range to open here in Austin.

Machineguntony, you could probably shoot all year round in your neck of the woods, a brand new indoor range sounds nice. Where I am they close ranges never open new ones. Getting ready for the first big snow storm, ice melt, shovels & gas for the snow blower. Hope we don't lose power. Texas sounds good to me. Till the next time, Be Safe out there.

Wow, those eastern blizzards; back in post #11, I wasn't joking when I said the worst was yet to come. My advice now is to bring your rifle in from the cold while you still have half a chance to find it buried in six feet of snow.

Condor bravo, we sure did get hit with a good one. Didn't lose power that was our main concern, shoveling out is a pain. The streets are clear to drive & the temperature is in the 40's so the white stuff is melting. Went to the indoor range today, shot my 4566 for the first time in years. Reloaded 50 rounds with a powder( universal clays ) 5.6 gr using a 230 fmj the powder was at least 12 years old, worked fine. Keeping busy, looking forward to warmer weather. Good talking to you, till the next time. Be Safe out there Chris

You suckers can keep it too. ;):D

We got a grand total of "flurries" and the only way I could be happier is if it were 70 while I type this.

Just got done reloading some 7-08's to go along with my other cartridges I will be shooting here in sunny warm NH this coming sunday, suppose to be close to 50, got to love these screwy New England winters. Ice fish on Saturday and Target shoot Sunday (with just a sweatshirt on)..
