Feeling Guilty - Bought a gun today for $10

Doug, why give him more? That's nice of you and honest people like you should be praised because there are so few out there but do you think someone else would do the same for you? In the sad society we live in, probably not. Which sucks.......

Mr. Blonde,
I'm always looking for a good deal, and if I buy from a business, I generally get the lowest price I can. But I don't feel the guy I bought this from really knew what it was worth. He didn't speak English very well, and the dealer had just given him a speech that convinced him his gun was practically worthless.

Even the dealer commented that I got a great deal when he saw the gun. I don't think he'd even opened the box - he apparently assumed it was your basic Jennings-style "gut gun" when he saw the brand. When he saw that it was a little nicer, with exposed hammer, decent sights, what looks like a satin chrome finish, etc, I think he realized it was worth more than $10.

Anyway, if I hadn't been a little nervous about it turning out to be stolen or a lemon, I'd have just given him $25 or so for it on the spot. I think that would still be a great deal for me, without him feeling like he gave it away for the cost of a couple of Big Macs.

I agree that he's an adult, and he named his price, so I don't feel obligated to pay more. But I also don't like the feeling that I've taken advantage of someone's ignorance (and possible mis-information supplied by the dealer).

Doug
