Federal Hydra Shok Obsolete?

Hydra shoks were my go to for years and years. At some point I switched over to Corbon, then to Rangers and have finally settled into Gold Dot 124 gr +P or Fed HST standard pressure. I still carry my old stock of Hydra shoks but normally in a mag pouch as a back up.

Do I think they are obsolete? Absolutely not. There are much better options but that does not make it useless.

Never used them, don't own any, but I was in my local Academy Sports yesterday and they had 40 and 45 caliber Hydroshocks on clearance. About 25% off if I remember. I was looking at 9mm, so didn't pay much attention to it.

From the tests I seen, they look like they still work well enough for summer carry. As they worked decent in bare gel testing.

Denim testing had multiple failures to expand.

The HST (Hydra Shok Two) are newer and better (mostly in terms of expansion reliability I think), but Hydra Shok are still generally good rounds.
