Federal Hydra-Shock ammo...why controlled?

In Kali, guns that aren't drop tested can be sold to LEO's. They seem exempt from the laws of our state. For instance, a Beretta 22lr 950 is avaliable to LEO, but not the general public.

Some used guns are banned from sale to any but LEO.

While we are sort of on the topic, why o some gun shops have a LEO only section for guns? what makes the guns diffrent?
It's long been considered a marketing plus to get as many of your company's pistols into the holsters of LEOs as possible. For that reason most manufacturers offer steep discounts to LEOs. Those discounted products have their own LE discount SKU and are only available to LEOs.

While loading my carry before I going on a walk, I looked at my box of HST and no where on the box did I see any LE only markings. On the other hand, I have a box of winchester ranger that is marked LE only....

73flyby,

Have you checked the Virginia Arms Company? Its probably the best store in the area. I'm not sure if they have the HST but I know they keep more ammo stock than Guns and Ammo.... While I'm not sure if they carry the HST, I do know they carry Winchester +P+, 50 rounds are around $40.

To Dave85:

Love your personal signature quote by Benjamin Franklin...never seen that one before. Reckon it would do any good to forward it to Washington about now? And thanks for the info on CheaperThanDirt...didn't know that, either. If they don't want my business, I'll be glad not to give it to them.

Teifmen1948, I've not checked VA Arms yet, but I will.

The Guns and Ammo Warehouse does not have HST, and their ammo stock seems very low right now, like most everyone elses. They get the HST in periodically, but not in very much quantity, and, as you might expect, it goes fast.

I like the Guns and Ammo Warehouse though. It's a classy joint. Glad I got to see it.

My suggestion for anyone who wants or uses a special ammo is that they not use it for target practice for the near future. And if you can find your special load get what you need before you need it. But please don't hoard. The slow learners like me just need a box or two (for the time being).

I've noticed different packaging for the same types of ammo. Some say LE, some don't.
