Favorite Powder for 9mm LRN

I think the key to finding powder is not to limit yourself to just one powder. Go shopping with a list of acceptable powders and you will have a much better chance of finding something. Most of the powders people have been listing are very acceptable powders. The ones that I have tried and liked were Power Pistol, Unique, TiteGroup, W231/HP-38, Universal, Bullseye, and V N340.

The OP doesn't say how much experience he has with reloading. I tried Titegroup for a while. I stopped using it mostly because for a 147 gr bullet the load I was using was 3.2 or 3.3 gr. Even in a small 9mm case, that only takes up maybe 1/4 of the case which means it's hard to see. I had several squibs and decided that I wanted to go back to Power Pistol because it fills 1/2 the case when I use 4.2 gr and is easier to see a no load or double load. I haven't had a squib since. Of course, I've been very, very careful since then.

So what I'm suggesting is that if someone is new to reloading, stay away from low volume powders until you've perfected your technique.
