Favorite Movies thread - it's fun, let's do it again.

'Cross of Iron' with James Mason and James Coburn.

'Siege of Firebase Gloria'

'Beau Geste'

Just about every Bond movie.

'As Good as it gets'

'Wuthering Heights' Merle Oberon, David Niven, and Larry Olivier.

All the movies with special effects by Herrihausen.

'Empire of the Sun'

Most movies with Pat O'brien and/or Jimmy Cagney.

The Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr. and Maria Ouspenskaya as the old Gypsy woman.

I've seen this movie a few times, but I can never remember the name of it. It's about a Russian tank crew in Afghanistan that gets lost, and one of the guys gets captured by the Afghanis, and he eventually ends up fighting alongside them. There's a Baldwin thrown in there because I think it's some kind of rule these days, along with the obligatory lunatic-in-charge, but other than that it's a damn good movie.

Watership down is a good flick. Put a different perspective on the rabbits I hunt, but I can't leave out the good ones like Hamburger hill, Thirteenth warrior, Dark crystal, Matrix, and Interview with a vampire (although the vampire chronicles are best read in book format.) Haven't yet found a good horror movie. Most of the so-called horror flicks are the best comedy I've ever viewed.

Gun control isnt about guns, Its about control.

So many great ones, and so little space and time to name them. Not in any real order:
Valdez Is Coming
The Shootist
Big Jake
Quigley Down Under
Hamlet
The Bond Movies: wiping a tear away in memory of Q, may he rest in peace.
Father Goose
African Queen
The Postman
Frankenstein (and Young Frankenstein)
The Sure Thing
et al.

Christopher: the name of the film about the Russian tank wandering around Afghanistan is "The Beast." Nice look at Russian armor inside and out.

How could I forget? The Shawshank Redemption. What a great flick. I could not believe it didn't win Best Picture.
I'm also partial to Babe, "Thank you very much" that just cracks me up.

Matrix--yep.That was the one Zulu starring
Michael Caine--the battle of Rourkes Drift.
Eleven Victoria Crosses (the highest award
for valour in the British Army--and the most
ever awarded at one time)

of late, The Matrix. Of all time? Damn - you guys make me feel so old sometimes... I'll have to think about it and get back.

How about "Wind" - some great A.C. (America's Cup) and Flying Dutchman style racing there - kinda sappy/stupid storyline, but great sailing/racing action cinematography. Can't forget "Pulp Fiction".
