favorite handgun

My favorite revolver is my 4" S&W 28-2. Why, because it has the smoothest trigger of ANY handgun I have ever shot. That smooth trigger translates to laser like accuracy out to 35-40 yards.

Taurus pt-101 Stainless, Had it for 7 years and I have other guns as well. Springfield XD9mm, ruger single six, Makrov 9x18, Heritage rough rider, The Taurus just fits in my hand so well and I dont have any problems with it. not that I have any problems with any of the others .:)

I have only one right now, JHP Hi Point. I love it. Ive gone through Sig, Glock, S&W, Berretta, Colt, revolvers, auto's. Hope to be acquiring a Kimber 1911 from my wifes uncle soon. Cant wait for that one. 9+yrs in the USN and I have used quite a few at the range and just havin fun. Wrap all the reasons into one and I have to say the Hi-Point is my favorite. Big, ugly, heavy, but fires without a problem everytime and always where I want it. Wouldnt even try to conceal it, just too big. Perfect for the house though!

I could write for days, on my favorite handguns- but using the KISS factor
"Keep It Simple Stupid" here is my top three; in NO particular order:

1) NIB Smith & Wesson model 27-2 .357 magnum with 3.5" barrel, triple T's
in the factory wooden presentation case, with all paperwork from 1977.

2) LNIB Smith & Wesson model 39-2 9m/m caliber unfired in the original
dark blue, hindged box with all paperwork from 1970.

3) LNIB Smith & Wesson model 19-3 .357 magnum in the original gray box
w/dark blue lettering, 4" factory nickel with target grips and all paperwork
from 1975.

Runner Up: The .45 ACP that I use the most, which is a Les Baer Thunder
Ranch Special 5" blued, bought NIB with three magazines, Baer patch and
documents a couple of year's ago~! :D

S&W 627PC 8 Shot .357mag

It's a wheelgun with 8 shots, a five inch barrel, gold bead front sight, and Herrett Jordan stocks. So in my opinion, it's an outstanding defense tool.

Until I get alot more comfortable with my new revolver, I'll have to say my Taurus PT940. I love the .40 S&W chambering for balance of power to recoil, 10 rounds +2 spare mags is sufficient for anything I can think of, the DA/SA is an absolute must for me (too used to the Berettas I carried in the service), and it looks real pretty in Stainless Steel with Rosewood grips (I'm a sucker for wood furniture).

In general I prefer revolvers to semis, and up until last winter I would have answered 'My trusty Ruger Security-Six'... but the ol' girl finally locked up just before Christmas and I am still courting her replacement, which I just acquired: a barely fired Monson, MA mrfd. Dan Wesson service model from the mid 70s.

God Help me!!!

Even though I'm a fully assimilated drone of the Glock Collective. my favorite is the Walther PPK/S!!!

The aesthetics and ergonomics of this classic gun are the best I've ever seen and felt.

Yeah, it's out of the safe and in my pocket!! ;)

1911's ( in 9mm or .45 acp ) - primarily 5" barrels .....and I like a well tuned and well made 1911 like a Wilson Combat Protector model. The 1911 5" full size fits my hand very well - great triggers / keep them clean and lubed and they will not let you down ... My primary carry piece is a 5" Wilson Combat CQB in .45 acp .

I also love the older S&W revolvers in .357 mag or .44 mag / but the .357 mag is a perfect caliber ( model 19's, 27's, 66's - even a 686, etc / model 29's in .44 mag ) ... ( 3", 4", 6" and 8 3/8" barrels - with great triggers.) My all time favorite revovler is the model 27 4" or 6" in Nickel
( .357 mag ) - there is just something about the N frame S&W's ...

It varies each day. Typically, it is the one I just shot that day. Or else it's the one I threw in the truck to take out shooting later that day. It seems like everything I have is either a sentimental favorite or has something unique about it that just endears it to me. I have had a few that were perfectly fine shooters but they didn't feel "special" to me and they got traded away for something different. All said though, if I have to winnow it down even further, here's my short list

S&W 629 44 mag - it's simply the most accurate revolver I've ever shot.
BFR 480 Ruger - The newest and biggest in my collection and a fine shooter too.
H&R 676 22lr/mag - the first handgun I ever owned, my old buddy.

My favorite handgun is a S&W 627PC. It has a smooth trigger and I shoot it more accurately than the S&W 686. With 5" barrel, it is nice in the field and even works as a carry handun.

My favorite is my Dan Wesson CBOB. I love the way it looks and the way it shoots. It just feels good in my hand.

That said, I have been shooting my Marlin 795 rifle a lot lately - it is my first rifle and is great fun.

Also - S&W 340PD with CT grips for summer carry right in the front pocket loaded up with GS 125gr .357mag HP's :D
