Favorite Firearms!

My varmint rifle =A 6mm ack imp caliber based on a Remington 700 action smithed by Gordy Gritters... primo.... :)

Handguns = Para P-14 "limited" 45acp - Glock model 20 in 10mm.... :)

Shotgun: Beretta A390 "silver Mallard" 3 inch 12 guage.

Fast Eagle... Hey bro... you rock.... :)

My faorite handgun of all time would have to be the H&K P7M8. Of the ones I own, the Glock 26 would get the nod, but that new Glock 29 is clsing in on it mighty fast.

I really like old battle rifles like the Enfields and Mauser 98s, as well as the tried-and-true autoloaders such as the H&K G3 (my old service rifle), and the AK-47 (the most successful rifle design of the 20th Century.) The Garand is a piece of history and a fine chunk of engineering as well.

M1 Garand - Smell the history. Accurate, reliable and tough as nails. Listening to the bolt close has the same solid thunk as a Rolls Royce door swinging shut.

Remington 552 .22LR with cheapie Bushnell 3X8 variable scope. Paid $20.00 NIB for that scope back in the late 60's. The rifle will shoot 1 hole groups from a rest at 50 yards.

Colt Trooper MK III .357 with 6" barrel fitted with Hogue Goncalo-Alves grips. Mine was mfr'ed in the mid 70's when Colt's QC was hit or miss. Mine was a "hit" - the crane to frame fit is perfect, the timing excellent and the lockup acceptable. In SA, the trigger break, for me, is perfect. For open carry, the Colt goes first.

S&W Model 19 in .357 Magnum.
Ruger 10/22 carbine.

But the most all time fun to fire was the M60 Light Machine Gun in 7.62 Nato.

Old Marlin Glenfield .22. It's an old, cheap, treasure. My Dad gave it to me when I was 12, 40 years ago. He's gone and I miss him awful, but I still have his memory and that little .22. I should probably shoot it more. Ray

Duh, Dangus, I think you are off by a factor of almost 100 or so. <G>

It all depends on how you define favorite ;)
My favorite is an FIE .380. It isn't pretty like a PPK, or accurate like a Kimber. The .380 isn't even considered a stopper by most folks. I see a few of these FIE's at shows for under $100.00, so it has little or no collector value. 100 years from now, I doubt anybody is going to organize many shoots around what even I admit is close to a POS. Even though it has shot some pretty amazing groups for a pocket pistol, it isn't a match winner by any means.

It has one redeeming value though. It was there when I needed it. That makes it #1 in my book.'nufff said.

My favorite gun is my Para-ordnance P16.40. It has a hard-chromed frame, S&A magwell, and a fiber optic front site, and regular capacity 19 round magazines. Just got back from Texas Limited IPSC match, shot 500 rounds over 3 days!

Ala Dan,

Got an extra 39-2 layin' around? I'm still kicking myself for trading away mine so I could buy a 4006. The trigger pull on the 39-2 was much better than the one on my 4006. Still looking for a replacement 39!

My favorite list: (not in any particular order)

Handguns -

Dan Wesson .357 - Interchangeable barrels. I have three different barrels so that makes it versatile! Built like a tank, can't break one!
S&W 39-2 - See above! Not as '2x4-feeling' as a doublestack Mod.59

Rifles -

My dad's old Rem 550 .22 autoloader - feeds all sizes of ammo (S,L, and LR). It's a Cadillac compared with a 10/22 or Marlin 60. It just reeks of quality!
M-1 Garand - pick up a piece of American history today!
M-1 Carbine
Rem 700 VLS in .308 - my reach-out-there gun

Shotguns -

Rem 870, any gauge - not as 'rattle-y' as a Mossy, great intimidating slide racking sound to an intruder!

Bottom line- any gun is a good gun if you need it NOW!

Remember, just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you!

Cougar; No sir, I didn't retain any of the
three Smith & Wesson Model 39-2's that I
had. :( One was NIB with nickel finish that
was absolutely perfect. :) I forgot what I
trade it for? I know where there is a blue
one at; but I'm out of funds at the present
time. Check out Mount Vernon Gun & Coin,
obviously in Mount Vernon, IL. They have one
listed on their website; sorry don't have the
link before me. Contact Mr. Karl Morgan at
his email address; and he can give you more
details. Be sure and tell Mr. Morgan that I
recommended his business; as he is really a
fine gentleman. Hope this helps some!!! :)

Best Wishes,
