Constantine,
Whether the law allows it or not, I would not want to find out that the gentleman three cubicles down from me is carrying a weapon of any sort. On the converse side of that, I wouldn't want to be caught with one and have to go through hell and probably a termination. A life is worth more than a job, yes, but there's a difference between protecting yourself and asking for trouble. And in today's economy, most people can't afford to throw away a job over trying to make a statement by bringing a gun into the work place. On top of it, one would be lucky if a workplace didn't decide to press charges if they figure out you're carrying.
The original topic wasn't directed to car carry, it was clearly asking about carrying into a building under clothes. If Florida has it set up legally for car carry at work, and keeping a gun in the car seems worthwhile, great. But most states don't have such provisions, and most employers aren't going to be so understanding if they catch on. I'm a gun owner and carrier, but I would not attempt to circumvent a company's policies by bringing weapons into a place they don't belong. I wouldn't encourage anyone to bring weapons into the workplace because there are too many ways your intent can be misconstrued and bent to make it look malicious, especially if you have to go to such great lengths to hide it.
