Favorite carry gun that you just can't conceal?

Anyone have a carry gun that you really like, but just can't carry for some reason? I have a Ruger SR9c that I love...feels great in my hand, points naturally, and I shoot it better and more accurately than any other gun I own. But, due to circumstances, I just can't conceal it. i work in an environment where it must be pretty deeply concealed. Dress code is slacks and tucked shirt and no matter what I've tried, I can't conceal the SR9c in work clothes. So, I'm reduced to a P3AT at work and carrying the SR9c on Saturdays when I can dress more casually.

Do you mean a gun purchased for the intent of CC. Only later to find out it dosen't worK?

Or do you mean a gun that you wish you could CC. (In that case I would say my Springfield Trophy Match)

I have the same concern, in dress pants and shirt it just dosn't work and I often carry the little 380. With a sport coat I have a shoulder rig that works ok but hard to get use to wearing it. It was like $35 at the gun show.

On my bike no problem my vests all have gun pockets and I can wear my shirt out and often CC 2 or 3 guns.

My SR9C is a great gun I like it better than most of my guns but this limit is frustrating.

CZ SP-01 Phantom is a BIT big for normal CCW work in Arizona summers, but here's hoping a new rig from High Noon will make it disappear under a loose t-shirt, Hawiianshirt or guyabarra. It is so light and durable for that 19 round capacity, and it's wicked accurate at close and long range. ;)

Haven't had that problem yet. My favorite handgun for carry is a 4" N Frame S&W Model 28, and I find I can carry it as long as my shirt is a little baggy.

Yeah I have a gun like that: :p :D

More the first one I guess. I can carry it, just not as often as I'd like.

My favorite that is difficult to conceal is a XD. I also work where I have to wear slacks and a tucked in shirt every day. I have a tuckable holster but I am pretty sure that if they ever saw it print I would get fired. Trying to get a TCP that I can pocket carry so they won't ever know. At this point the XD is on me pretty much all nights and weekends.

Just to play devil's advocate here, is it a total necessity to carry at work? If you've got to conceal so completely, does your work not allow/approve of guns in the workplace? All of the jobs I've ever had, there's a clause right in the employment agreement about not bringing firearms into the workplace, even in your car. I used to do overnight security detail in a somewhat undesirable part of town, and the urge to bring my CCW along on occasion, even just in the car, was strong sometimes. But it was the knowledge I wasn't supposed to, and being caught would lose me my job, that kept me from trying to find some way to sneak it in.

I can conceal a 6 inch S&W Model 29 in an IWB holster. So there's not much that I cannot conceal. It's all about the right holster, belt, pants, and shirt.

But, what you wear might push it. :D

My life means more than a job.

Also, I am in the great state of Florida where they passed a "take your gun to work" law where you can ALWAYS have your gun in your car even if your place of work forbids it. So that one can practice their second amendment right in their commute to and from work. So mine is always with me but at work stays in my car.
Now if they find out I'll get fired.

However, they can't find out. They can't get a warrant without probably cause. That's unconstitutional. Period. Federal laws. State laws. Job rules and regulations? Which one really matters in life? Honestly?

Jobs (in Florida at least) that say that they cannot bring guns (like mine said) even in their car. Are full of ish and WISH that the people who read that are stupid enough to think it's true. Rules and regulations don't touch laws. It's NOT against the law in Florida to carry a weapon in your car at all times even at work unless you work in a federal building or something. However that's not the case.

That would be my Model 28 Smith the dept. let me keep when I retired.

I have a CZ SP-01 that is quite large to carry concealed, it's possible and I do it occasionally, but not easy. I love that pistol, it's accurate, low recoil, 19 rounds on tap and easy to use.

I wish that Florida law was in effect in Washington. I have to park off the parking lot at work just to keep my pistol in my car.

Have you tried a Crossbreed Supertuck?
Not with the SR9c, but I do have a Supertuck for a Kahr PM45 which works wonderfully with an untucked shirt. I tried it tucked a few times and it always looked like I had a tumor behind my hip. I have a 5.11 holster shirt which does work, but I have to be careful because a lot of my patients at work are extra "huggy".

I have a Smartcarry that works OK with a Kahr PM9 as well. I tried one with the Ruger and it makes me appear a bit "excited" :D Oh well. I do have the SR9c on nightstand duty (with the 17 round mag + extension), so there's that.
