Favorite 3rd Gen S&W

I have a nice condition 3913NL, which I love for conceal carry. I also have a rare 4576 of which only about 1,389 were made. The 4576 is the same as the 1076 that S&W made for the FBI except for the caliber. Both are 100% reliable and group very good.

my 1995, 6906. A police trade in from an Ohio sheriff's dept. Little to no wear, tight as a drum and came with 2 mags and a BNIB Don Hume holster. Sold the holster, so bottom line was $345.

The 10mm's were the standouts but the entire line of 3rd gens could have benefitted from harder steels and better tolerances, imo.

3953

I wasn't even familiar with the pistols until earlier this year when I spotted a 5906 for sale locally. After some research I bought it but the grip was too blocky for me. I traded if for a Beretta 86 and bought a stainless CZ 75 instead for a full-size stainless 9mm.

Then I found a very nice 3913 for sale locally. I really like that one. That led me to discover the 3953 which is my favorite one. I prefer both with Hogue rubber grips. They are similar in size/shape to my beloved SIG P239, one of my CCW pistols. I might eventually work the 3953 into CCW as well. I might eventually sell my 3913 but probably not the 3953.

The 5906 just couldn't grow on me.
