What is your favorite model of these classics? Does the 910, 915 and 469 still qualify as 3rd gen? I found a place that has several different models but not sure which ones are the good ones.

3913, 3914, 59, 5903, 5904, 5906, 5926, 6904, 6906, 469, 910 and 915

kevin,

Tough choice. I guess it depends on the desired function (whether it is a carry gun, HD or range gun). For a fun, range gun I like the 4566tsw- accurate and reliable. For carry I prefer one of the alloy framed guns like the 3913/14 series or 6904/06 series. Since I have big hands I usually carry the 6904 as the 3914 is just a bit too small. Let's see what other's think.

I’ve always liked the 5903 with the alloy frame it’s a bit lighter than some other models.

Strictly a range toy and just because.....

I believe the 5906 has the same mags that will work in the Lionheart/Daewoo pistol which would be a nice bonus

The 9 I shot was ridiculously inaccurate, even for a s&w 9. I had a nice 4516 I never should have gotten rid of.

The 469 and 59 were actually 2nd generation guns. The 910, while based on the previous 915 - itself a less expensive variant of the excellent 5904 - was actually a cheapened "value line series pistol". Not as well made as the standard 3rd gen pistols.

My favorite 3rd gen pistol in 9mm is the 3913......well......all of the 39XX series guns. Bet your life reliable and accurate. Look good doing all that too.

My all time favorite 3rd gen gun would have to be the 4513TSW. The early variant with the cut out grip frame and 6-round magazine. Light weight, slim, the perfect carry 45, for me. Regards 18DAI

The Model 6906 is one of my "go to" pistols for carrying concealed. The slightly fatter grip holds a 12 round magazine and the alloy frame makes it relatively light. An extremely reliable and well-made gun that you can still find @ gun shows/pawn shops/internet auction sites relatively cheap.

I always thought they were a step or two down from glock, sig, and beretta. I believe the market concurred.

I had a 4006 many years ago. The 38 ounces of stainless steel made it a soft shooting .40 cal. Very reliable but not the most accurate pistol I've ever owned.
I would still buy a 3913 if the price was right.

The "market's" not always right. Look who's been President for the second time around.

Unfortunately I only have two, a 5906 and a 909(909 is 3rd gen?), I apologize for not having pictures, but of the two my favorite would be the 5906.
