Ever have a day like this?

"A bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down,
and won."

I also apologize for using this thread for the recitation of John Prine lyrics. Sorry.

Field-dressed, you left out the best line on that one "You might see me tonight with an illegal smile"!
Sorry, no more off topic John Prine stuff. Really. "Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill any one, just tryin' to have me some fun". Oops there I went again.

Man, never had one that bad.
A few months ago I waited a week with a new pistol so my 78-yr-old father could shoot it new. Drove two hours to see my parents and then after lunch another 30 minutes to the small outdoor range he belongs to. Yup, cowboys.
OTOH, took another new pistol when I went to visit two days before last Christmas. It snowed enough that we couldn't get back in the mountains to the range that day or the next - Christmas Eve. Early Christmas morning he stuck his head in the bedroom said "Lets go." Excuse me, on Christmas? Not in my family, unless you guarantee a goose for dinner maybe. Off we went and mom never even frowned.
Somebody will make it all up to you. It evens out. John

Aw, heck! ;)

I'm sorry I touched such a nerve with all the John Prine fans. Didn't realize there were so many here! I see him every time he comes to Atlanta. Saw him this summer at Chastian Amphitheater. Good to see him touring again, after his bout with throat cancer.

(for you non-Prine fans, Aw, Heck is another Joh Prine song)

Correia

I might get to the range Wednesday or Thursday after work. I'll post a full report then and email ya.

Went to pick up my Cimarrons yesterday (purchased Sep 30, just before Paris Glendenning's latest attack on the law-abiding went into affect) and was told that, even though the paperwork had come back from the state police and the store was open, I couldn't take them home because I hadn't waited the requisite five business days.

grrr...

Got me thinking, on the drive into work this morning -- if they can outlaw "look alikes" of the "evil assault weapons", why is a near-exact copy of an 1873 Colt Peacemaker not considered an antique for the purposes of sale and transfer (remembering, of course, that guns manufactured prior to 1900 are considered "antiques," not firearms, and as such don't have all the prohibitions)?

grrr...
