Just guessing but IIRC at least one former president has asserted executive privilege for a non-employee advisor to the president. Suppose for example, one wanted outside advice on foreign affairs and consulted a former secretary of state. That may or may not be a legitimate and valid use of executive privilege. I don't know. However, I seriously doubt President Obama is seeking advice on the ATF's gun-running from Eric Holder's wife. It's laughable.Why? Neither the wife nor mother has any official standing or position?
