Enough on WD, How about REM OIL

Remington doesn't make Rem-Oil.
Most brands are outsourced. The name is sold to the highest bidder. For example S&W doesn't make knives, lights, or anything except guns.

Dang, here I am being the oddball again.
I gave up Rem-Oil for Kano Lab's 'Microil'. Seems to stay put better and longer than Rem and our GEMS/OSHA/Safety/MSDS folks get a bigger warm and fuzzy over the Kano Labs product.

I like it. Especially on autos. I use it to spray down the internals. It cleans, evaporates, and leaves a little bit of lubrication. When I'm done snaking the bore, I spray a little down the chamber and snake it again. Works for me.

I use RemOil. Even said that in the WD thread.:D I like using 3n1 for a wipe down because that's what my dad always used to lube his guns and to me if they don't smell like 3n1 they ain't clean.:D It will gum up internals after prolonged use tho. He hadn't used his guns for many years. When I got them after he died they were all sluggish. Took copious amounts of WD-40 to clean out all the gunk. I use white lithium grease on my semi auto rails.

REM Oil is too thin for me, I have things that work much better. The one spray can I have is used to hose off the trigger groups on a 870 and 1100 per Remington's instructions => spray, soak, shake off.

And REM Oil smells funny.

I don't like Remoil or WD-40 for sevice use or long term storage. As fastforty said Remoil dries up and goes away after a few days. I found WD leaves a goo which turns into a hard varnish after the light elements dry up. They are both OK for a quick temp lube job, but my favorite lube is FP-10 from Muscle Products. After 32 years in the service dealing with weapons, you see a lot of stuff come down the pike. Someone asked about Dry Slide. It is still around. Many newer tech lubes have superceaded it.
