Elk With 270 wsm, 130 GRAIN?

Yup a CZ Safari Classic in 375 H&H. Actually it's their standard CZ American Safari, but I had it built by their custom shop including dual crossbolts, action job, mercury recoil reducer, barrel band etc. (so they put Safari Classic on the barrel). I got it shipped, delivered with tax for about $1100. Then I had Ed and Wayne at American Hunting Rifles (AHR) give it their CZ #1 upgrade (straighten and fill bolt, single stage match trigger, 3 pos Model 70 type safety $500) also very well worth it. I highly recommend Ed and Wayne.

The .270 is one of the first wildcat cartridges put into production from the parent cartridge 30/06. It proved to be a good round for many years. The advantage of the 270 is that it is much flatter shooting than the 06. It does however loose a little in the "knock down" but not by much.

Bullet placement is very important, so there is no substitute for practice. I realize that paying $2.00 per round is a bit high so I would highly recommend that you invest in some reloading equipment and it will pay for itself in a very short time. My reloads for my 300wm run about $9.00 a box. Most of your 270 rounds will run about the same. As you can see, it wont take long to pay for the equipment and you will be able to keep in practice to make that important shot when you need it.

I sure am glad I reload even if it is only 3-4 hundred rounds/year. My guns would be retired otherwise at $50/20.

I like Remington Core-loks. Also use partitions.
