Election Night: FOX News to CNN and Back Again

The democrat's don't want to protect our freedoms, all they opposed was Bush. Look at the wiretap/echelon stink they made. That program was going on under Clinton, did they care? No. They only cared because it was Bush.

Ask the Dems to repeal those laws or impede those intelligence operations, and you'll get either a) "when we got into power, we realized they are important" or b) "give us time to settle in and we'll see."

The Dems haven't been about freedom for decades. All they saw was an opportunity to get back into power by telling everyone how bad the Republicans were, often over things the Dems voted for.

, IMO, will never be a strong, organized 3rd party to vote for.

No, because many of those who espouse support for 3rd parties don't vote for them. And many who run for office as 3rd party candidates try to become President in their first bid. Few think of becoming a Libertarian alderman or city council member, and building a base of support.

Tell that to Lieberman and Schwarzenegger. ;)

If Independent votes don't count why is it that BOTH parties spent an inordinate amount of money and time trying to look "centrist"? Answer: They see the Independents as potential undecided. And they're right. Nobody wants to vote for a loser; we often do so in protest of the alternatives.

So many of the wins last night were due to swing and independent voters going Democrat that they simply cannot be overlooked as a force. Let that trend grow and you will certainly see a third party in your lifetime. If that happens, the Dem and Repub ranks will shring measurably.

I pray that you are correct in that prediction.

The only good thing in yesterday's results that I can see is that hopefully, by letting the leftist liberals win now, America will see their true colors by the 2008 election to return to normalcy then...

C.D.-What is your definition of 'normalcy'? A republican controlled house/senate/whitehouse?

Wow, the independents now have two seats. Lieberman (a Democrat who will caucus with the Democrats) and Sanders, a socialist who will caucus with the democrats.

Yay independent revolution.Third parties go nowhere. We have seen two of them fizzle out in the last 15 years. Perot's cheesy independant party, and Nadar's cheesy Green party. Wish all you want, but this is a two party system. The Libertarians have been around forever and can't elect dog-catchers.

This election was standard second term blues. The next race will be about Hillary vs. McCain, pure and simple.
