In case there is anyone out there who hasn't heard yet, eBay has relented on its no magazines, barrels, hammers, firing pins, etc. policy. They are once again legal to sell and buy on eBay. It's about time they wised up.

I forgot to mention that magazines are limited to 10 rds., and all items are for U.S. sales only.

Stupid anti gun Ebay could make a fortune if they opened themselves up to Ammo and Firearms sales, they could easily pass places like Gunbroker by if they applied themselves. In this case though, ideology no matter ho wrongheaded seems to have trumped greed(for now).

Thanks for sharing.

I really wish eBay would reconsider allowing auctions of ammo and firearms. I mean they allow adult material (edited 'cause of filter settings - should read P***)???! Like adult material is held in higher regard than shooting sports???! I bet their lawyers could come up with some disclaimer/waiver for those who decide to participate in firearm auctions.

I hope Ebay never opens itself up to selling firearms. We know it's anti-gun run by a bunch of fruits 'n nuts. Gunbroker is doing just fine. Let them have that market. Heck, I'd like to see the Gunbroker folks go after other markets that Ebay tosses aside, and then go head to head with Ebay some day as a general auction.

One business's stupidity is how new enterprising businesses come to be. It's the American way!

I just closed my Gunbroker account because they wanted wayyy too much information from me last time I tried to log in. They wanted to know what kind of debt I had, through whom, what credit cards, etc.

I'd had an account their since 2008, and I told them to delete it because I refuse to give them that much information.

WoW! .... I don't blame you!

I do hope I see more and more gun related items on eBay as PayPal is just so much more convenient and quicker than checks and money orders.

GB has never asked me for any info like that...

As for eBay, when I started there in 98, they indeed allowed gun sales, as long as buyer and seller followed all state/fed/local laws...

Of course, back then auction numbers were only 6 digits long...

You sure you were actually on Gunbroker and not at a mimed website?

I've NEVER been asked any of that information, and there's no logical reason for Gunbroker to ask it.

Me thinks you got redirected to a phishing site. GunBroker does NOT ask for that information. You either clicked a bad link or have a virus that redirects you to fake sites.

^^^ agreed... just bought reciently, & over the last couple years, it's been my main source for antique collectable I've added to my collection... never been asked that kind of info...

Re: GunBroker, concur with the above, you probably hit a fake site somehow.

Re: eBay, I boycott them because of their firearms issues. So they will move limited accessories... ok, fine, I'm still not putting any money in their tills until they will allow firearms and ammo.

Principles can be a pain....

I've worked with lawyers who deal with corporate liability, and though I didn't like it, I could understand eBay's reticence to deal with anything firearms related. Standing in their shoes, this policy change is actually fairly open-minded.

Most of the remaining restrictions make sense for an entity that oversees possible international sales, as well as sales between permissive and restrictive states.

Yeah, I refuse to eat at McDonalds because they refuse to sell guns and ammo.

So is liability insurance and dealing with government regulations....US and foreign.;)

I have to disagree. Ebay could legally permit people to auction firearms on their website. All laws would still have to be complied with. Transfers would have to be done through licensed dealers. When it comes down to it, Ebay is nothing more than a place for sellers to advertise their goods. Its a glorified classifieds add newspaper.

Ebay chooses not to permit firearms sales, not because of legal concerns but because the folks who control it are either anti-gun or cave in to anti-gun social and financial pressures.
