EAA Witness Tactical 9mm

I picked up a Tactical II in 9mm this weekend. I ran about a 150 rounds through it yesterday without a hitch. I really like the way this pistol feels. The double action is heavy but seemed to lighten up with the few the rounds I've put through it. The single-action is great; a little take up, but breaks cleanly.

Most of my experience is with the Glock safety-action. However, I found the double-action very easy to adjust to, even rapid fire. The one thing I don't like is the ported slide/barrel. Shooting indoors caused debris to fall from the ceiling. The gun was also filthy after only a 150 rounds. I'll probably buy the regular compact barrel.

The slide on the Tactical II is cut for the adjustible "Wonder" sight. For the money, it seems to be a great pistol. JohnH

For the money CZ is the way to go while we are talking 9mm, and .40s&w. The diff between new guns is less than $50. CZ's use forged slide and frame. I believe Witness uses at least cast frame (the tang is better done, though). Most CZ's seem to have no problems, while Witnesses are hit and miss. You can find extremely accurate examples of both.

One thing Witness wins hands down is trigger. While CZ can be smoothed out nicely it still has some creep, even with SA only conversions. The reset is also typical longish HP style. I have shot a Witness long slide (smithed) with excellent DA/SA, and reset that seemed shorther than Glock's.
