EAA Witness Tactical 9mm

Can anyone tell me anything about this gun? The EAA web site is down. CDNN Investments has this pistol going for $329 including one 16-round high capacity magazine, and additonal high-caps for $29.99.

I know the additional mags are a great price, but what about the price of the pistol itself? How's reliability? Accuracy? Thumb safety (frame or slide)? etc.

EAA

Hi,
The pistol itself is great, however the importer, EAA is probably the worst company out there for customer service. Chances are you will not have a problem with the pistol, but if you do EAA will ruin owning the pistol for you.
If you feel lucky buy it, but I won't buy another one until Tan stops using EAA as their importer.

EAA witness

Hi, I have a witness target model in 9mm, it has never jammed or failed to feed and at 20 yards i can put 16 rounds through 2 jagged holes.......

A&Ptech:

Have you heard of problems with the EAA Witness in 9mm? The EAA looks like a fine weapon. In pictures, it looks a lot like the CZ 75.

I was looking at the "target" model in .45 ACP....but I looked too long and missed the boat. I'm taking a pass on the "tactical" model because I do not want a short barreled unit. I like the full size guns.
I have heard lots of good things about the guns.

I don't understand, what is the "Tactical 2" that CDNN is selling? It takes 16-round magazines, but somehow has a shorter barrel?

Tactical II

The tactical 2 is a normal size witness frame with a 3.75 inch barrel and shorter slide, the barrel/slide is ported to reduce recoil, and better sights than a standard witness, in essence, other than the few mods, it is just a standard witness chopped down in length for easier concealed carry.

I just ordered the EAA Witness Tactical II from CDNN. Price was $329, which includes 1 16-rd mag. Added $29.95 for an additional 16-rd mag.

Enjoy

I think you'll be happy, I love my target model that I got from CDNN, now if I can convince my wife that I NEED the tactical II....

I just got it yesterday. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, but I'm looking forward it. The barrel/slide is ported to reduce recoil. My girlfriend will be shooting this pistol, so this is a good thing. The double action trigger pull was harsh, but then they all are to me.

One thing though: the gun appears to have no finish. It's definitely not blued, and doesn't have the appearance of stainless. The bag the pistol came in was heavily oiled. Could CDNN be dumping an inventory of guns with known defects? (In this case, gun not being finished.)

The "Wonder Finish" is supposed to be similar (though different in color) to the Tennifer finish on the Glock slides. I have a Witness compact .40 in that finish, it shows no wear in about a year's worth of concealed carry. It will however show some slight "staining" after a lot of contact with the body. I carry IWB, there's a slight stain on the left side of the frame, by the grip, if you know where to look.

I like the look of that tactical, looks like the compact-length slide and frame with a full-length grip. I want one!

WITNESS for WITNESS

Spotty.

Good luck.

Of my two 'small-frame' versions, both bought in 9x19, one was good, one was atrocious.
Both got serious tweaking. Both run great. Both are well-loved by me.

Tanfoglio Tweaking...Who did it?

WESHOOT2,

Who did the "serious tweaking" on the Tan's that you have and what was tweaked?

Just curious?
