EAA or CHARTER ARMS

I never put a magnet to either of the Windicators that I owned, but they were both excellent guns while I owned them.People shouldn't put them down unless they have personal experience.Hear say doesn't qualify.

True enough, but my experiences as a gunsmith have shown me enough pot metal guns for me to know that they wear out quickly, and in some cases, I have seen some that were so badly corroded that they literally crumbled to pieces from a mild concussion.

One Arminius .38 revolver crumbled to pieces just by having the barrel tapped on a carpet covered counter top at the store where I worked. Can you imagine if the owner had fired that gun?

Another example was a Raven that was so badly corroded that the slide was inoperable and it had a live round in the chamber. Even firing it into the trap didn't budge the slide.

I could go on...

Pot metal is cheap and easy to cast, and just fine for window cranks and electric fan motor cages, but I stand by my original statement that it is not particularly suited for firearms.

Of course, if you want to save a few bucks, then by all means, go ahead and purchase a pot metal wonder.

Charter Arms

I own (and regularly shoot) two Charterarms undercovers and love both. One is a DAO and the other is a DA/SA. I also have never paid more than 250 for either of them. They are great truck guns also.
