Double Tap ammo

Hi-Vel Ammo marketing 101

I wouldn't use 'em if they were given to me...

A few extra feet per second isn't going to KO the bad guy any faster than 'regular' wimpy W-W, R-P, Speer or Federal ammo. The extra recoil and blast just ain't worth it to me.

If i'm going to shoot Speer Gold Dot bullets, i'm going to use agency-proven Speer/ATK/CCI ammunition.

Can ü guys tell me about any agencies currently using DT ammo?

Mine arrived about a week after I ordered.

Also, I didnt get to shoot it today. I went to the range to do the action pistol and spent all my time there. The local police department was there with a shoot house setup and we got to shoot in that aside from our normal senarios. It was sweet!

In my experience that often means lowest bid, lowest common denominator for recoil so the girls can shoot it and lowest possibility of over penetration.
Everything with an "agency" is a compromise.

A few feet/sec won't matter. How about 90 or 150 FPS?
9mm +p 124 gr jhp
Federal Premium Tactical MV 1160 ME 370FP
Speer Gold Dot MV 1220 ME 410FP
DoubleTap MV 1310 ME 473FP

I could go on but it won't matter....

Here you go, just go here and tell me which of these loads are within a "few feet per second" of DT.

Not everybody can handle recoil the same. That's fine. But if you can't, just say so, don't make up some cock and bull straw argument about no agency uses DT. I'll guarantee you that if an officer is allowed a choice, most will not choose any of the ones you mentioned. Corbon, DT and any other custom ammo maker is what we chose. We wanted the best we could get. I chose to carry my own. Even I could beat factory ballistics easily and safely.

I will add that i could really feel the extra bump these had, right in the pocket of my hand.my gun doesnt lift from recoil,it goes straight back.and i could feel the grips texture burying itself into my skin

That is something that I love about the DT ammo too. It doesn't seem to be "flippy". Straight back into your hand and you feel it all the way down your arm. Solid feeling. Nice. Kind of like hitting a baseball or golfball on the sweet spot. Again, only 10mm, YMMV.

I shoot 9mm and .40 S&W for personal defense... and carry a Glock 29 10mm as bear deterrent.

Double Tap ammo allows one to to obtain the maximum performance from a specific caliber.

It is some of the best ammunition available.

so you prefer mass quantity manufactored ammo over small batch, hands on made ammo? and they do use GoldDot bullets in them.
i will agree i can shoot about any ammo out of my G20c 10mm and it will down anything im engaging.thats the design of the cartridge tho.
but the great thing about 10mm is it can be loaded so many ways its almost overwhelming at times.and the differances can be large when comparing certain loads.
one load can be as weak as a tame .40s+w or have it hopped up to full 10mm specs.and ill be honest it makes not one differance in recoil in my gun, that nose stays buried down no matter what im shooting.but i can tell in the web of my hand how hot it was loaded.
i have several box's of ammo for my gun including hydroshocks, but both clips have DT 180gr GD @ 1300fps / 676ft/lbs loaded in them.

my point is that in a 10mm it does make a big differance. and DT started as a 10mm ammo maker but just branched out to other calibers iirc.

ive shot quite a few guns in my time and ive never shot anything like the G20c recoil wise.i cant say i cant see much differance with DT over any other ammo "flip" wise, the gun just stays nose down.its the force i can feel in my hand and arm is the DT differance i can feel.
its the first compensated gun ive ever shot also.

Well I finally ran 25 rounds through my CZ p-01 today. Mixed them in with some WWB ammo, and about 10 in a row on top of 4 target loads. They shot flawless, and very accurate.

I could tell the difference, but I thought they were really smooth. It wasnt that "noticable" like some things Ive heard. I am very happy with them so far in that gun.

I had the slide stick back on my SW9VE when the mag was going from a target load to the DT, but after that it was fine. Im not sure what that was about, but maybe next time I'll run a few more through that gun. They shot fine after that though.

Thumbs up for DT so far from me

DT

I use it in all my guns for CCW SD carry. You can tell the difference in the recoil. Besides being hotter ammo I think its quality ammo. I dont find it anymore expensive than other quality ammo. Beside its the only ammo I can get in a reasonable amount of time!!!! I run a few boxes throught each CCW gun for function testing. I had not had a problem yet. I think it does beat your gun up some. I would not shoot it all the time.
