Don't you just hate "which gun" threads

I made my choice

OK, I made my choice and bought a new gun. In many ways it is not what I thought I'd buy this time around...

It is not a .40S&W

It is not a .357SIG

It is one of the more expensive guns on my list

I bought a CZ P01. I've wanted a PCR for over a decade. No one has them right now. The P01 is basically an updated PCR. The size is near perfect (though a tad narrower would be nice), the weight is about perfect (28oz means light enough to carry, but more than heavy enough for extensive range sessions and quick follow up shots), CZ accuracy and reliability, and the ergonomics are quite similar to my CZ 75B (my CZ75 is one of my best fitting/feeling guns ergonomically). While I wanted a .40 or .357SIG this time, I definitely trust 9mm fully (I have other 9mms I use for self defense) and 14+1 round capacity of a capable 9mm (such as Gold Dots, Critical Defense, HST, etc) will be quite comforting.

The only thing that sucks is the darned MD waiting period (I have to wait a week before I can pick it up, but at least that means I have some time to shop a holster)

You did good getting the P01 over the PCR.

For one thing, the P01 has a slightly longer slide release lever than the PCR. The other thing is you can add a light or laser to the P01 if the P01 sees time as a home defense gun.

I say these this because I have a PCR , but I installed the P01 slide release lever to make it easier to reach. Plus, since my PCR is mostly a home defense gun I can't add a light to it. I installed a front tritium sight to it, but those are pretty dim in comparison to a light or laser.

The PCR is a fine gun, but the only time I carry it out of the house is in the winter months with a jacket to conceal it in a shoulder rig. And the winter months really aren't that cold down here.

Anyway, congrats on your new CZ. :)
