Dog chases squirrle!!

Our retired racing greyhound used to catch squirrels and birds all the time at our old place. It got so that the squirrels stayed in the trees or on the roof (or in the *%$@ attic) or on the powerlines. The only thing the little rodents were good for was cleaning up the chestnuts from the neighbor's tree, so we got rid of most of the squirrels, and we gained a chestnut problem. Ever step on one of those bristly hulls at 0200 barefoot?
OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUCH!!!!!

I found bird carcasses almost daily, and the only cat that could remain close by was the one who was in the house when Katie (the greyhound) moved in. Sydney (the cat) could smack her in the nose or jump on her belly and Katie would tolerate her - she also tolerated the kids falling all over her. I wish we had a fenced are where we are now, because I can't shoot all the squirrels around the farm and the bird dogs and danes can't catch them worth a darn.
