Had to add my "2 cents'" worth to their discussion board ....

I must agree with Simona. I find this
article to be very disturbing. Do you
assume that all men who own guns are drug
dealers and gangsters? Is this out of
ignorance or have you found that the 'type'
of woman to read your magazine usually
associates with this type of man?
My boyfriend has fifteen guns. Does that
disturb me? Certainly not. It does not
hint 'at all sorts of dark, messy desires in
[my] partner, from his delusions of being a
badass Puff Daddy to his ability to menace'
me. He is a certfied firearms instructor
who has no patience with anyone who is a
'Puff Daddy' wannabe. Guns and shooting are
his hobby.
He also carries for self defense, and I
personally feel much safer when I know he is
carrying, especially when we go someplace
with my three-year old son. Not all men who
own guns want to 'menace' women. Most of
them are very responsible with their
firearms and simply want to protect
themselves and their loved ones from the few
creeps you are writing about.
By the way, I happen to own two guns myself,
and am planning on purchasing another in the
near future. My son watches the Eddie Eagle
safety video almost everyday and when I ask
him, 'What is that?' and point to a gun, he
just says, 'No, eagle. No touch.'
If you continue to gear your articles toward
weak women who are attracted to the kind of
man who wants to dominate and terrorize his
mate, that is exactly what you'll get. Then
you can just change the name of your
magazine to something like 'Crack Whore
Monthly.'[/quote]
