Does the 223 tumble?

Eh, that’s the Internet. You take the good with the bad. The best you can do is explain the error. I regret not having the subtlety or panache of the many TFL members who have explained errors to me over the past 18 years. Not many of them are around now and I understand that better too.

1. The opening post's premise is flawed. The young man in the video apparently died of a self-inflicted pistol wound, not from a .223/5.56 bullet.

2. The original question had already been adequately answered in 2011.

3. The original twist rate of the M16 was 1:14, not 1:20.

4. The bullet from the original M16 did not tumble until it hit something--something that most bullets will do regardless of rifling twist.
