There is a company that makes new garands! http://www.iai.com They also make new m1 carbines and several .45 pistols at a reasonable price. I think that I will get one from them when I can. The last time that I heard the price was $600-700 for one but not quite sure. I would like a ODCMP one but I don't shoot matches. Hope that this helps I have their m1 carbine and love it!---DAROGUE1
