Does Anyone Know?

@ Stew: The last (2) SIGS I got did not come with targets OR spent shell casings. The previous SIG came with the target but no shell casing so you are not alone. My brother in law just got a SP2022 last month, I will have to ask him if his came with the target and shell casing.

"Yep, every one of them. And each chamber showed evidence of proof testing."

FrankenMauser,
That's interesting. Did they send all 6, or just one?

The states that require a spent casing to accompany the weapon also require a paper trail for each casing. Since the law only says they need one, the factories don't waste their time (and money) filling out the paperwork for more than one. Only one came with the revolvers.

With most semi-autos, you'll get a standard case.
With revolvers, you'll usually get a proof case.
(You can identify them by appearance; though the appearance changes, depending on the type of cartridge. Generally, the cases are zinc-plated, with a red-colored case head.)

Hello, When we were sending firearms over to the British with "Lend Lease"..the ones that made it back to the states after the war all had re-proof marks on them....Funny, even with their backs to the wall, the Brits didn't trust a firearm from the U.S. to be safe until they proofed it themselves.

That is the law in many countries in Europe including the UK. In some instances a weapon imported from proof law European country must be reproofed in the receiving European country if it is for commercial resale.

Though this is not always the case. Walthers manufactured in France up until 1986 were only proofed at Ulm and not in France.

I know for a fact that FN in South Carolina proofs every gun, military and commercial. All of the pistols are targeted, as well.
