Does anyone else evaluate things in terms of how many guns that could buy?

Every trip for groceries (2-3x mo) = Ruger LCP
Mortgage = Sig 229 EE
Xterra payment = M&P9c
Petrol bill 1 month = SR40
Daycare 1mo = Tompson Venture
Misc Bills = 2 Sako A7

If I could only stop paying for crap one month and dedicate it to firearms.:D

I had a double bypass, heart valve, and pacemaker surgery in August. You don't want to know what that cost...you don't measure that in guns - it's more like houses or expensive Italian sports cars...

I definitely think of some stuff like that. Especially when it comes to paying my bills to crooks. My mortgage is really low but still I think of if I could miss a payment to the crooks a Chase I could have a new gun. Miss a payment to the crooks at AAA insurance and I could have a month worth of ammo.
I don't generally think of it with things like groceries for the wife and kids, or buying other things for them. Because... I love them
I think when I have to pay it to crooks is when I think of it that way.
Don't even get me started on what I could buy if I skipped paying the IRS, the biggest crooks of em all...

Quote: "No, God has blessed me with more than I ever dreamed of. I want to be a good steward of His blessings. Guns are not, and must not be the focus of my life. In fact they are relatively unimportant when I look at family, service to Christ, and needs of others.

I would rather support missionaries.

Regards,
Jerry "

Bless you Jerry! I wish I had written that!

og....who has had more guns than good sense.

you know, man, I cracked a molar that had a 30 year old filling, and the first words out of my mouth once his hand left it were "pull that SOB." Did I evaluate the price of that crown in guns? no, I evaluated it in tires, timing chain, plugs, and therapist copays for my daughter.

I had a standing budget of $40 each month for gun stuff at that time. Never let my "allowance" stand in the way of things like teeth, I guess.

- I recently bought a P210 from Top Gun Supply for $2500.

- Today I'm going to write a check for a pre-paid funeral for my mother for around $10k.

So yeah, I'm sitting here thinking, "I could have bought 4 more of those Swiss Army Pistols from TGS."

John

P.S. - Don't bother trying to talk me out of prepaying, the check doesn't go to the funeral home and my mother doesn't need the money to cover her nursing home bill of $8k a month. She's 87 and has had Alzheimer's for at least 10 years. I told the funeral home to write up a contract for the exact same funeral my father had in August.

Absolutely yes to OP question. Its to me, how many bullets and primers I could buy with the money :evaporator in the car, hot water heater for the house, $900 would have bought a boat load of bullets and primers:(
Nice to have A/C in the car and a hot shower.

Yeah, I am glad to know that I am not the only one who thinks like this. Let's see 2 months ago, new transmission in pick-up truck. That was an M&P in 9mm and .45, and 200 rounds for each.

Well, no, I really don't.

But I can commiserate with the dental work thing. I'm looking at some really expensive work in the near future.

I do as I'm leaving a casino after a bad night. It's not mortgage payment money, just cash that could have bought a new gun or something else had I not lost it. Then again, I have more than one firearm that I've purchased with winnings at the tables. Just don't play with money you can't afford to lose.
