Does anyone collect/assemble "sets" of guns?,,,

Vostracker and Aarond...as #1 son succinctly put it, "there's nothing like stomping around on your own land....armed to the teeth!" (In reference to my previously posted pic!). Rod PS: We live on a small farm in N. KY.

at one time

I 'assembled' a set of 5.5" stainless Redhawks, one in each chambering.
I used them all.

But I found no real joy, so I kept the 44 version and sold the rest.
I may not be normal.

Pairs, sets, even numbers of brands and calibers.
My Smiths for example are at a OK stopping point for my OCD. There's 12 total.

A rimfire auto model 41 paired with a centerfire auto 1076
A nickle 22 model 34-1 paired with a nickel 44 model 29-2
A 6" K-22 paired with a 6" K-38
As such I have the J and K frame 22s and my 696 means I have a L and N frame 44
Add my 442, 686ssr and 327 trr8 and I have a J,K,L and N frame 38/357.
Round out the 12 with a 610 and a 1917 army for a set of moon clips in 38/10mm and 45acp.

Hello mavracer and WESHOOT2,,,

Hello WESHOOT2:

I kept the 44 version and sold the rest.
I may not be normal.

You may be perfectly normal,,,
I really believe it's OCD that drives collecting sets.

Hello mavracer:

I have envy for your K-22/K-38 pairing,,,
I have one in 4" but not 6".

Many near sets

Seems like with me, I'm always one gun away from a complete group or set.

I do have one handgun from each of the main 3 Axis powers from WWII, Italy Japan and Germany. A Beretta 1934, Nambu type 14 and a P38. I like history.

I have a bunch of near complete sets, maybe someday I will try harder to finish them. Most of these happened at random as I was never truly trying to get one each variation or subvariation.

Colt Detective Special and Cobra bot in 38, need the agent for a set aka Colt D frame snubs.

1st generation and 3rd generation Colt Woodsmans, need a 2nd generation.

As for snakes, I need quite a few more, but I have a good start with the Cobra, Diamondback and Python so I need the Boa, King Cobra, Viper, and Anaconda (I think thats all of them).

For S&W, I have the 27 and 29 but need a 41 magnum to have the 3 N frame magnum guns.

I also have the K-22 2nd model (rare) and the 3rd model, so I need the 1st model aka outdoorsman to have all 3.

I have a S&W revolver in a I, J, K, L, N and X frame but not the M frame aka the original lady smith.

Got a S&W 1st model 2nd variation and a 1st model 3rd variation but no 1st variation.

S&W 38 SA 1st model (baby russian) and 38 2nd model but no 3rd model.

For S&W 357 magnums, I have them in N, K, and L frames but not a J frame 357.

For P38s I have an AC and a CYQ but not a BYF (SVW) to have all 3 WWII
P38 makers.

For High standards, I have guns from the New Haven factory (first) then the Hamden factory (second) but none from East Hartford (the factory that went out of business in 1984), mostly due to my own choosing due to their quality control issues. The Houston factory is very much removed from the other 3 for many reasons.

Naw, I purchase guns according to use. Such as, each one of my pistols is for a particular carry or home defense situation.

I have thought about it though, but backed away because I did not want to feed my obsession a new dish....
