Do you pay the msrp on firearms

I never paid MSRP for any firearm.

The closest was probably my G33, I paid $520-ish, MSRP is like $630, I think. Most of my gun purchases have been closer to 2/3 MSRP.

I've paid MSRP - on special order guns, custom specd guns --- 1 1911 from Les Baer and 4 1911's from Wilson Combat ..... and if you want a new Baer or Wilson ....there isn't really any other way except to step up and pay for what you want. I'm not opposed to buying used - but if its not really what I want - then I custom order.

I enjoy the hunt for a new gun, sometimes more than the gun itself - and a good deal is always welcome. On standard production guns / I support one of my local dealers and I know his prices, at least to me as a repeat customer, are fair compared to what he pays wholesale ( he has to eat too )...and they're often less than other shops in my area so its ok.

If I really want the firearm and I have the money I'll pay for it. I am kind of an impaulse shopper at times. All in all one can buy cheaper off the internet. Shipping +10 fee is cheaper than tax on $1000 firearm. However one must go thru the hassel of sending off a Bank MO with a FFL to have it shipped to the dealer. Takes about a week and one always wonders will I get screwed? So far the many guns I have bought off Gun Broaker I have never gotten stiffed.

There are dealers who will sell these guns below MSRP. They can't advertise the price due to manufacturer restrictions. It may be different with a true custom order from these shops.

I have never paid MSRP for any firearm. I am old and patient so I wait them out until the mad rush is over for a new one. Don't make the claim I will never but so far I have not.

I may have on my H&K USPC, as I was looking all over for a specific one. It had a stainless slide and was in .45 ACP, and I searched the entire area before I found one. It was $759 and I gladly paid it. In hindsight, I don't think it was worth it, but whether it was MSRP or not I don't know. To be honest, I never checked.

I've never paid MSRP for a gun; even my small local gun shop knocks at least $50 off the list price, unless the gun is really hard to find, and I don't have any of those. Since my guy doesn't stock a lot of guns, almost everything I've bought from him has been special-order, but he's good on price, especially for repeat customers who also buy ammo and other stuff from him. I'd guess you would have to pay the asking price for something from a gunsmith or small-capacity manufacturer of high-end weapons, but not for a catalog weapon.

An exception - that would probably require that I hit the lotto - is the Beretta Gallery in Highland Park, Dallas. If I recall correctly at least a portion of the product was MSRP.

'Course if you're in the market for a 75,000.00 SxS rifle, I don't suppose there's a whole lot of places to go.

I had gotten an SP3 nicely discounted from a local shop but I'd swear the exact same model at the gallery, at MSRP, had much nicer wood. The gallery staff said their stuff was not hand selected but it sure looked like it.

I sort of started thinking about a Ruger 10/22. MSRP is $269. If you follow the buy now link on the Ruger page, you are taken outside of Ruger where I found it for $160. I should have pounced on it. Only 3 available, and they are all gone. I found one in a gun store yesterday. $310. I thought... no never mind what I thought. Someone who doesn’t do their research is the person that will pay $310 for that gun.

Same with camera equipment. In store prices are almost always well below MSRP.

I've paid retail for 1 gun and that was my Ruger LCP. It was the hot gun, hard to get and I really liked how the gun felt and handled. I paid retail for it and don't regret it. It became my constant summer CCW gun and I've been very happy with it.

my dealer has been in business for close to 50 years. he has a banging business, and at this point he needs very little to get by.
the shop is and always has been in the basement of his house. on new guns he charges 8% over his cost.
msrp? please......
never you mind his used stuff...:D

My old dealer in NJ used to charge me $50 over his cost, He would hand me the dealer book and I would pick what I want. MSRP is for suckers.
