Do you have modern era guns you've never fired?

Never shot? Heck, I have guns stashed I don't ever remember about til I get interested in a nice piece in the display case down at the gunstore. Then as I handle it it starts to feel familiar and then it occurs to me I already have one.

Pretty special-issues aside (that are more decorations than guns), I don't get the point of why someone would own a gun they don't fire.

I'm always amused at a gun store or show when someone is trying to trade something that has been in a box since new and never fired.

What's the point?

It seems to me that several of you have "too many" handguns! ;) I have a wopping 5 gun collection. :( Only 1 is a handgun. All of what I have has been and will be shot. I may never have the "luxury" of owning gun(s) I won't shoot. Oh well.

All of my handguns have been fired. But I do have a Bushmaster AR15 in my safe that as of yet is unfired. Have had it for two years. I bought it because it is so Un- Politically Correct to have one. Most of the ranges around here frown on black guns, will only let you load one round at a time!

Owning it is kind of like thumbing my nose at the Politicians here in NY.

Come to think of it, I also have a Sauer 202 in 30-06 that is as of yet unfired, mainly because I never get to the rifle range to shoot it! All my daylight range time goes to Sporting Clays. Jeez, I better zero that gun in soon before I forget how!

As to the previous posts about reliability of unfired guns, Those guns I do not depend upon for defense unless it would be a very very last resort and then I would take my chances. All My other guns are shooters and those are the ones I depend upon without second thoughts ;)

Nice .45 Son ;) Thats a keeper :)

I have a John Browning 1911 and other many other cased pistols that will never be shot. I have a first year of production 1911 made in 1912 that will never be shot.
