I don't have one right now, I mostly carry mine in the woods and WA has a cool provision that allows concealed carry during and while traveling to or from legitimate outdoor activity. Also, if I really think I need it, I bring it... because there is really only one gun law in this country: the 2nd amendment...

However, now that B'Obama has been elected, I plan on applying for my 'shall issue' permit asap so as to be 'grandfathered in'... at least in my own mind.

The reason I have held out so long is that I hate giving this state any more of my hard-earned money to spend on drug-addicts and dole-leeches than I already do, and they just recently they raised the fee for issuance and renewal from $40 to $55. At least Bush was from Texas and hands off our guns!

I live in eastern North Carolina. I turned in my application to my county of residence's Sherrif's Office on Feb. 13, 2009. The application says it takes anywhere from 30-90days. I am looking forward to getting my CCW, I hope I will not have to use it because from the stories I have read from individuals having to defend themselves using deadly force, It can be a very traumatic event even if you are found innocent.
 
The wife and I both got ours last summer. I don't currently have any plans to visit any states not on our reciprocity list, so I'll just stick with the TN one for now :)
 
Good response. 93% plus percent have a CWP or plan to get one.

I think if I had asked this question a year ago the response would have been less.
