I just received my CWP in the mail yesterday. This is my fourth state to live in where I have obtained a CWP. I was just curious how many now have a CWP or plan to get one on the near future?

I understand that just because you own and shoot it does not automatically mean you will get a CWP. Just wondering about the percentage.

I guess if you have multiple states just check "have one", also for retired LEO.

Don't need one. As a qualified retired LEO, I just qualify every year. And I don't have to worry about reciprocity. But I would never carry in NYC or New York State, 'cause I don't trust 'em.

You need a selection for "Have Multiple."

second that. in OR I need proof of some kind of training, which I have, but my friend that was going to apply with me pointed out that the local class also qualifies for a Utah permit that reciprocates with a lot more states so thats what we plan to do.

How do I edit the Poll questions?

No luck so far. I guess for multiple just check have one, also for retired LEO.

If you add have to the plan to get, so far about 93% will or do have CWP. Higher than I expected. It seems ammo, CWP's, and guns are very popular these days.

BTW, in my state it took over 96 days to process my CWP. It seems there was a rush beginning in Nov. to get carry license. I have no idea why.

Self defense of self and family is not a right, ITS A RESPONSIBILITY.

If one lives where its legal, then he/she had no excuse for not having a CWP. You choose to remain a sheep and deserve no respect.

I have had one continuously for 35 years. Some of us here in Alabama have been carrying since long before it became popular in the rest of the country!

<--19 and my guns registered in my dads name until I hit 21 :( Going to get my ccw when I can but I am aiming to become an LEO and join the marines in about a year or two. Who knows what will happen.

Have one out of state already from PA, plan to get FL's or UT's soon, but can't get one in the PRK thanks to the gremlin sheriff where I live.

As far as NY honoring the LEO provisions, I would agree that I wouldn't trust NYC or parts of long island. I doubt you would have any difficulty anywhere else in NYS.
I think most LEO's in NYS would be very sympathetic and not cause you any difficulty.
Many outsiders don't understand that NY is very divided, NYC and the rest of the state are very different. Many of us wish the state was split in at least 2 parts, and the tensions are getting worse all the time.

Talking about choice #4 "lives in Commie state". My oldest Son lives in NJ. CWP is basically impossible to get. Not to mention you can't use HP ammo for SD. You have to get a special permit just to purchase a handgun, and then still go through the background check.

I noticed that the FBI statistics just recently sighted Camden NJ for having some of the highest violent crime for a city it's size....strange how things work. You think maybe there is a connection!

I got mine back in '98. There's been a big rush to obtain these here in NC lately. The Mecklenburg County Sherriff's office is overwhelmed and there is about a 5-6 week wait to get your fingerprints and get the process started.
