Do you have a brand of rifle you are committed to?

What with a half-dozen MOA or better rifles of different brands that by and large are for different purposes, about the only way I'd be committed would be to a State Home for the Bewildered.

Not at all brand committed

IMO, brand loyalty is more about the tastes and ego of the buyer than anything else.

I own rifles from various mainstream manufacturers, each purchase was made based on numerous factors, brand is not high on the list but I do consider it.

The rifles in my safe are all over the place for the most part but the only brand I have 3 of is H&R single shots. I have them in .17 Hornet, .25-06 and .45-70. and I'm planning to get one in .357 mag later this year. There's something intriguing about a simple rifle that shoots well...

That said my my favorite top 3 are.

Custom 1909 Argentine Mouser in .308 Win.
Winchester Model 70 .30-06
H&R .45-70

After that it's too close to call.

I'm not committed to any brand for any product. My last 2 bolt rifles were Savages before that it was Remmington. My last three handguns have been two Rugers and a CZ.

My brother in law on the other hand is the exact opposite. He only buys computers and phones from Apple. All he talks about is Apple Apple and more Apple or how great Steve Jobs is. When day at a family gathering I had enough and told him If you love Steve Jobs so much Why did you marry my sister. It got really uncomfortable for a little while after that and everyone blamed me for starting trouble. I can only take so much of that guys corporate worship.

Not really anything I'm committed to, but I don't think anyone could go wrong, with a modern, decent example (not a lemon) of a Ruger rifle.

Lol, this is classic. Same thing happened in my family only in reverse. My uncle is an EE and a long time computer nerd and he forbid anyone in our family to buy Apple products. His sister got an iMac and he gave her an earful and then one of my other uncles scolded him down for being such a jerk over a computer brand.

I have some that I like more than others, but I,m definitely not committed to just one brand.

As for adverse weather. Is this your first time in adverse weather ? If it is you may want to read some articles on Proper Lubrication for such. Regular gun oil could cause problems in extreme cold to desert sands.

No one touched base one this, but I feel that this is more important than the brand of rifle that you purchase.

But if you are already aware of this, then i think a new Winchester model 70 will do just fine.

Just trying to help.

One brand of rifle? Not likely!

A quick review of my locker shows Winchester, Marlin, H&R, Savage and Remington. I guess I have no brand loyalty at all.

Springfield, as in the M1 rifle. I've got a Remington M1903A3 but the basic design came from Springfield. Does that count?

I recently had a Sako Finnbear 7mm Remington Magnum in my shop. It was a well built rifle. It would be ideal for adverse weather hunting conditions. I believe they are somewhat limited on their chamberings however.

My main go to brand has always been Ruger, as far as rifles go... Everytime I'm looking for something new Ruger always seem to have exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm also very partial to Winchester, hence the name. Savage, Tikka, Sako, Remington, Browning and CZ as well.
