Do You Get Excited?

When I was younger I got an adrenaline dump every time I saw a deer while hunting, no matter the size. I don't anymore but I sorta miss it.
 
I tend to get more"alert" when I see game. Getting a little excited is a good thing as it may help to keep you alert. Being over excited can be a problem if your heart starts racing & your breathing gets uncontrolled - makes getting off an accurate shot difficult. Maybe visit a deer farm where you can hand feed & pat deer- any deer farmer that I've ever known is also a wealth of information on deer & their habits.
 
I still get a warm and fuzzy feeling...great for those cold mornings. My brother lives in the woods and everytime I go there I see many deer and I still pull over to take a closer look.

I try not to get overly excited when hunting, but rather stay calm and make a great shot. After that, I am a mess:D.
 
I get a little excited, I'm one of the lucky ones, I don't get buck fever or too excited until after the shot, then all hell breaks loose. I usually have to sit down because my legs get to shaking and I don't want to fall out of the stand. Once I get my hands on the buck though I get all calm and almost feel as one with him and I give him a big thanks, pet him a little and wish him off to Buck heaven. Sounds corny but thats what I do.

I am a bit like you lon371. The old ticker does speed up a bit anytime game comes into view. No buck fever mind you but a good adrenaline rush.

Did you ever notice that time seems to go by in slow motion at that moment in time?
 
As i stated it is a rush for to see them. I went out yesterday morning, seen 2 at a distance thru the thicket. Unfortunatly they did not come to me. Thanks for the replies. It is 6am, going out the back door to the woods in about 20 minutes. Maybe today will be better than yesterday.:)

For about a month before hunting the deer season starts Im like a kid waiting for christmas.And I get excited when I see anything close It means Im doing a good job of not being seen.If it wasnt fun and exciting still what would be the point.
