Do you believe there is a U.N. Conspiracy to take over the world?

I know the title may sound like this is going to be some wacky Tim LaHaye or Hal Lindsey ITEOTWAWKI thread. But bare with me. When I say, conspiracy I mean the literal definition of the word. A conspiracy is two or more people trying to enact an idea they have. It doesn't have to be through armies or atomic bombs or space ships either. It can be through more political and gradual events. It may not even be intended as such by all participants.
So this is not a thread about U.N. Cobra Helicopters landing blue uniformed shock troops in the 50 United States and "what kind of guns should we stock up on to defend ourselves"
This is a question of if you believe there is a movement in the world conscious (I.E.: the U.N. should control this or that in X country) or unconscious (I.E.:"we need more 'globalization' or a new NAFTA bill") effort that's end result is to remove state or national sovereignty of a country or state and form us into a gradual or immediate whole?
What does this have to do with guns? Well with as many countries that outlaw guns and the very nature of such a movement would mean removing the ultimate means people have in their local communities of preserving their sovereignty.
For example, if the President were (without the consent of the Congress, as usual) to grant the U.N. ownership of all Federal Lands (National Parks, National Forests, National Monuments, etc.) That would put anyone caught with a firearm (they would of course make it illegal to carry a firearm of any kind on U.N. owned land) under U.N. jurisdiction right? Or if they turned the EPA over to the U.N. How would this affect your land? If say they turned half your farm into a U.N. preserve and furthermore said you can't discharge or even own a firearm with in a half mile from this preserve.
OR: Suppose the Government gave the U.N. control over all international trade. Well that could mean that they would control our Interstate or even Federal Highways to some extent. They could control our laws of travel (no guns on U.N. Highways.)

In a world where we have mass immigration, "globalization," Kyoto Treaties, NAFTA, European Union, multilingual education, "tolerance", "diversity" along side of stamping out any sense of local identity and making the West a homogenous body of people under one central authority it sure seems to point in this direction whether it is a mass conspiracy or not.

Do you believe there is a move in this direction?

If so, what can we do as gun owners and and members of our communities and, regions and states to resist this?

I'm not looking for answers about if we should stock 50 M-16 rifles in each of our basements or just 10  But rather, encourage local traditions, fight attempts to stamp out local identity, send your children to colleges that respect tradition and culture rather than PC dung holes (A&M over UT for example [sorry true blue Texan Longhorns]), raise your children in a local rural environment where real culture comes from rather than PC superficial cosmopolitan congestion centers (AKA cities), elect good men to office who are honorable and are wise enough to step back and examine the bad policy's we have (Ron Paul of Texas for example) even if you have to "lose your vote" and vote for a non Demokrat or Republikan.

Do a google search on "Agenda 21", read the UN documents, then google Joan Veon (she has been to all the UN conferences) and then you decide.

Yes there is one, in the sense that unelected politicians are working for their own personal gain. Part of that involves making member countries to conform to the UN and it's demands.

Looking at their past performance we can see that they do not care about the poor, the hungry, or the oppressed. Everything it is all about $$$. Just look at the whole "Oil for Food" fiasco. Yes Sadam was evil, but he wasn't stupid. He knew how to play his cards to his advantage.

I believe they are the hub for Communism and Socialism and are attempting to implement both throughout the world. The UN has its own agenda; and that agenda is to bring down the developed countries.

Crinkle, crinkle...

OK, Tinfoil now in position...

Yes, of course... It's all the UN and the Trilateral Commission...

Jeez. Put that lighter down and step away from the bong.

No. Plenty of self-absorbed dimwits whose machinations occasionally work against national sovereignty...but "conspiracy"? Givin' 'em too much credit IMO.

It is out in the open, stated they want to be the world gov't. They want to set the rules, enforce thier rules, try people who break thier rules, disarm everyone but them. No there is no conspiracy just plain out fact.

Good post, Tony. Consipiracies are hatched in secret. Their plan for one world government is pretty much there for all to see.

Hilarious!

I think they have made it abundantly clear from their inception that their goal was to be a governing body to which all governments must answer. They have also made clear that this leaves no room for the concepts of individual liberty, private property ownership, or national sovereignty.

Seargent at Arms...

learn to spell it, then submit application stating how you believe common folk will obviously go out and break the law as soon as they possess a firearm...

Aye, aye, Captain, duly noted, but my mission will be more along the lines of reversing the restrictive arms laws in western nations across the globe.

And a noble mission that is...

But aren't you worried about all the mindless sheep who shouldn't even gaze upon a firearm unless dictated to do so by a governing authority with an obviously superior understanding of the universe:D
