Do people you know hate when you carry?

Carrying concealed...

I don't mean to sound rude here. But I do NOT carry for other people. Therefore I do NOT care if they like my carrying or not. Having said that I strongly encourage those who carry concealed to do it exactly that way. Conceal it and don't flash it, show it or brag about having it. I'm 63 and have carried concealed every day of the past 40+ years and have never been observed to be carrying. If you are in a public place and some maggot comes in to stick it up you don't want some well-meaning moron with you to suddenly yell out, "Hey, buddy, you better watch it or I'll have my friend here shoot you."
You also don't want the maggot to look at you and see that you are carrying. Let the robber's first clue be when you are in a Weaver stance and looking across the sights at him. Heck, for the last while I have been carrying a 5 shot .44spl in a pocket holster and nobody knows it.

Badass...I like you a lot already.

You can handle that .44 at that age? May God bless you! We need more guys like you around. My old man is 63

.44 spl

I wouldn 't want to challenge my wrists too much, but I can handle the special rounds fine. It is easier than my .45acp snubbie and a little stiffer than my .357sig Glocks.

Since I enjoy talking about these issues, I often discuss them with my friends that dont have permits or dont carry, but in the hypothetical...I never tell them I am carrying, even as I discuss the issues...

I am sincerely interested in different points of view, but have not heard any compelling reason why I should not carry.

And other posters are right....some people will never be convinced. But they dont have to be!

Carry On!

The list following is of the 23 people who were murdered on October 16, 1991 at Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen, Texas when George Pierre Hennard drove his pickup through the window and began shooting people. 20 others were wounded. The Gratia's daughter, Suzanne Gratia Hupp was with her parents when the shooting happened. Her father, 75 yo Al Gratia, (see below), was murdered when he charged the gunamn empty handed to try to stop the massacre. Mrs. Hupp's mother, 67 yo Ursula Edith Marie Gratia was murdered right after when she tried to get to her husband. Hennard shot and killed himself after being wounded by responding Police. Suzanne Hupp had her legally owned handgun in her vehicle but was prohibited by Texas law at the time from having it inside the restaurant. She said she could have saved her parents if she had her gun with her. She became an elected member of the State government of Texas and was instrumental in having Texas laws changed.

(Personal observation)-I think this is one of the most pervasive of arguments for the people who don't like guns. Note the Texas law didn't stop a mass murderer from having a gun.

I wish, may have to stay late here and fix this old network. Gun show in town too and I gots cash

I once lived in South Omaha by the "Projects" on friday nights the gang bangers would rip off some rounds in the air. I was sittin on the patio having a cool one and bullets rain down. I goes into my house, pick up my 30-06 and fire off 5 towards them. All went silent, no more gun fire that night. Lived in town 4 years, was hell on earth.

Oh Lord, be careful now..Hope they don't come looking for whoever did that. Maybe those 5 shots took them all out. ;)

I like it, if I carried a revolver it would be 44 spec.

Nah I shot the tree. The sound was all it took, ever hear a 30-06 at night? beats a 9 every time.

I live in the country now, I fix guns and test them. I was working on a12 ga late one night, gott it together took it outside and ripped off five, the phone rings, neighbor is wondering if we had troubles :) as it was 2 am.....

I only had to pull my pistol once while at home. A guy had come into my back yard. I asked him to step back and when he wouldn't, I pulled my Glock 27 and ordered him to the ground. He was pretty compliant after that. Since that happened my whole family has realized that it is a good idea for me to carry in and outside the home.
