diy 28 nosler for less than 1600?

Browning rifles are pretty consistently very accurate. Biggest problem with Browning rifles is low availability of aftermarket parts, there's not a lot of support for them. The triggers are pretty mushy typically, and you have to use Browning mags. The X-Bolts have been around for a few years now, so some aftermarket parts are showing up, but not a lot. If I were to choose an off-the-shelf rifle for long range shooting, I would opt for a Remington 700 Sendero or a Bergara. Either one will shoot sub-MOA and you can wear out a barrel getting good then replace it with a good barrel.

Did some trouble shooting/work on a Browning my daughters boyfriend has. Was handed down from his grandfather. Everyone in the family said it didn't shoot worth a darn.
Subject turned out to be a Browning A Bolt White Gold Medallion REMF in 7mm Rem Mag.
In other words a drop dead gorgeous gun!!
One scope ring missing a screw. Only 1 screw per side. Other screws were gorilla tight!!
Along with the base screws.
Action screws were loose.
Took completely apart. Cleaned. Torqued base screws on. New rings, torqued.
0.78" 100 yard 5 shot group with 162gr ELDX over RL26.

Yeah, if setup right they can shoot.

Heavy though.
