Difference between steel and brass case ammo?

Asafand

I have a Couple of Mauser Rifles, one is 8MM and the Other is 7.62x51 the chambers get a little sticky with lacgueer but they both function fine with Steel Case Ammo.
I bet a Push Feed would have even more trouble though, both of these Mausers Rip them out of the chamber just fine.:D

"Most" people don't reload steel and it is probably more effort than it is worth. You can do anything, but it is far from common to reload steel cases.

I have also found that steel cases do not expand near as well as brass in the chamber when fired. I have reloaded a few steel cases and have found that my firearm stays a lot cleaner and is more accurate with brass casings using the exact same loads. Brass appears to "seal" the chamber better resulting in less blowback. Just my opinion, but I can't help but think brass casings provide more uniform pressures as well.
