Did S&W ever make a tiny stainless revolver,,,

Since you are fond of nickel plated revolvers,,,

This is one I just inherited from a dear friends estate,,,
Her Brother knew we shot together a lot,,,
I offered to buy this gun from him,,,
He just handed it to me.

4" S&W Model 34,,,
This was her first handgun,,,
Her dad got it for her 10th (?) birthday,,,
He took her to a gun-shop and let her pick it out.

When I commented on her good taste in handguns she said,,,
"I was a young girl, and it was shiny." :D

I need to make a better holster for it,,,
I made this for her years ago but was never happy with the design.

Perhaps a J-frame sized Tom Threepersons type.

Model 34's ( kit guns ) ...are very nice guns .../ you're very lucky to have it.

They're pretty rare in Nickel ...and demand a big premium - at least around here...and I haven't even seen one in a long time. I passed on buying one a few yrs ago ....it was in the box - with the "Full Kit" intact..virtually new in box ...for about $ 450 at the time...and it would be at least twice that now probably ...in excellent condition ( I'm just not a big "box guy" ....don't really hold any value to having the box ) ..which was why I passed. Now I haven't seen any in years...

I think the holster you have for it now ...looks pretty nice / kind of vintage...but its yours / you should do what you want.

J Frame holsters 4" ....lots of options out there ...Kramer Leather - horsehide is my go to guy / but there are a lot of "western custom guys" around at my local gun shows - if you like that vintage look. There are some good western holster makers in AZ and TX these days ...and of course Milt Sparks ...

A snubbie J-frame with a really compact grip would LOOK a lot smaller than the J-frame you have there. Like a 317 with that 1.875 inch barrel.

I found what I had tucked away in my memory,,,

Butler Derringer,,,

Colt made (or imported) one very similar in shape and size.

I'm a bit bummed that S&W never made one,,,
It would have been perfect for The Harem.

Oh well,,,
Thanks for all the input guys.

Hello micromontenegro,,,

You need to get a second harem- a Colt harem

Not a bad idea,,,
Except I never developed a strong affinity for Colts.

I have a friend who buys Colts,,,
He's trying to get at least one of all the snake guns.

Would that be a Den of Snakes,,,
or a Pit of Snakes?

Rossi makes a very small .22 revolver. It's listed as their model 70.
They made it in nickel finish and it's the same size as the S&W .22 Hand Ejector Ladysmith.

The S&W Ladysmith 22's are made on the M-frame (Blued or nickel, no stainless) and run well in excess of $1,000 for a working model. Most start around $1,250 from what I've been seeing. And they're looking pretty rough for that money too.
The problem with these little revolvers, is they were only built to shoot .22 short, or .22 Long cartridges.
But when the S&W engineers built it the cylinder was long enough that a .22 LR cartridge would fit in it. The .22 LR didn't exist when the gun was initially made, and they never saw it coming in the future.
So, when a shooter loaded it with a .22 LR load, it would blow out the forcing cone and destroy the revolver. No replacement barrels were ever made for it.
If you can manage to find one with a blown barrel it can be fixed thru Chicoine's. Cost is $400 for the barrel to be relined with a SS liner. then to restore the gun they estimate the cost at another $400-500.
