Did I screw up?

After reading your post last week, I thought "no biggie, let it go". After seeing the pic I can see why you were conflicted over it. But asking price is not selling price, so you may see it at another show, you never know. Or someone may buy it for that stock and set the 54 barreld action aside. Pics on the internet are hard to judge by, it sure looks like a nice one, but $500 is probably too much.

Same situation with gun shows in my area. I see the same dealers with the same inventory several times in a row. The rare good deals on guns are when someone brings ones and carries it around.

The ammo prices are above what you can find at the local sporting goods stores. There seems to be very few good used guns that aren't priced 'as new'.

Like previous posters, I am about to give up. It seems to me the dealers are pricing for 'newbies'

There is an old saying - Any product is worth exactly what YOU are willing to pay for it - not a penny more, or a penny less. While something may not be worth it to you based on your research and experience, it might be to someone else............if you didn't get goose bumps and feel excited, it was probably best you walked away; otherwise you would be suffering from buyer's remorse..........there's always online and next time

I contacted the seller on Arms List. Turns out this is the same rifle I saw at the gun show after some polite inquiring, it was at his fathers table. Don't know if the story is true or not.

I'm trying to work out a deal, with maybe a trade or something that I think he can move a little faster. I did point out as politely as I could, that when I saw it at the gun show it was almost $200 cheaper. I haven’t got a response yet, don’t know if I will.
